Dear Anil, My IT Returns were filled twice last year due to error in the amount of Refund due to me. The IT department initially refunded the amount due as per the revised Returns, however after some time, to my surprise they again refunded the balance amount as per the original Return. Please guide me to return the excess amount back to the IT department. Thankyou, Warm Regards.

Ans: It is likely that refund is granted to you as required details are not shown correctly in Income Tax Return. Thus, it advisable to take help of tax consultant, identify the reason for wrong refund and file rectification application with Jurisdictional assessing officer.

Sir, I have filed my IT return on 26th July 2023 where the refund was Rs.66000/- I have filed a revised return on 28th July 2023 with a refund amounting to Rs.112000/- Today i.e on 9th August I have received refund of Rs.66000 as per my original ITR file but not as per revised ITR. Kindly guide how to get the refund as per revised ITR filed by me.

Ans: Please wait it out a bit. The revised ITR also needs to be processed (hoping that you would've e-verified it too) and then only the balance of refund will come. If you don't get it in say 15-20 days, then head over to your IT website login and put the details in the Grievance tab.

Dear Sir, I filed my DAD's (since deceased last year) IT returns as a Representative and there are Refunds due. However his banks accounts are closed and refunds are failing. Now I tried to request for Refunds/Reissue with my Validated Bank Account (where my ITR refunds are credited). But refund to my Bank AC is also failing also with message bank account not validated. Grievance has been raised in IT Portal many days back, but no response. Please advise how to proceed on this. Thanks in Advance

sir i have filled my IT return for fy 22-23 succcessfully but not recd it refund

Ans: •Generally, it takes 20 to 45 days for the refund to reach you after filing and verifying your ITR. But there could be multiple reasons that you have not received a refund.

•Firstly, you have to check whether the Income Tax Department has processed your ITR. You will get a refund only after your income tax return is processed. You can check the status of your ITR on the e-filing website of the Income Tax Department.

•To get an ITR refund, your bank account should be pre-validated. In case the bank account is not pre-validated, you will not receive a refund.

•E-verify your income tax return to get a refund. As per the latest rules, you need to verify your ITR within 30 days of filing it. So, if you haven't e-verified your return, you will not be eligible for an ITR refund.

•Your income tax refund can also be delayed if you have any outstanding demand pending from the previous financial year. If there is any outstanding demand pending, then your income tax refund will be adjusted against that demand.

I am a working person and filed my ITR for AY 2024-25 with old regime. After filing the ITR, when I calculated with new tax regime it is found that an extra Rs.60,000/- (approx.) was deducted. So, I asked my financial consultant to refile the ITR as per new regime and he reassessed and filed. However, recently I received refund an amount as per the first filing i.e. as per the old regime. What to do get the remaining amount?

Ans: Once revised ITR is processed, you will get notice of demand along with Interest for excess refund given. You can make payment at that time.

Hello, I'm about to finish my third year in b.a. in economics, I want to earn money with a settled job for my parents. Hi Sir, My Son is studying in 11th std with PCMCs and preparing both for NATA and CET. He was an average student in tenth scoring 55%, we are hoping for better performance in his 12th board. Currently we are staying in Bangalore. We need your suggestion in choosing between BArch or BE (Civil/Mech/Electrical). Which one will be better for him in difficulty level, fee structure, future job prospects and if he wants to Masters, whether he can continue in India or abroad. If abroad which countries or university are good for him for masters. Thank you

Ans: In B.Arch difficulty level is less but he must be good in drawing. A candidate who is bad in drawing can't be an Architect, even if he becomes he will fail in professional life. BE (Civil/Mech/Electrical) needs good knowledge of Maths and Physics. From his 10th score it seems to be he is an below average student. Fee structure is mostly same in both. For Masters we can think afterwards, no question of long term planning. In abroad always USA is the best for Engineering. Best of luck. Regards. Hi , I am planning to pursue a master's degree from Australia in 2025 Feb intake and got my education loan sanctioned from a bank too, but the university requires some interview process for confirming my admission and the interview is done now and it's been more than 1 month I didn't got any reply from the University of whether my admission is confirmed or not , because of the new law of student capping in Australia they are putting it on hold and now I have a offer letter from other university too but the thing is my sanction letter is already used for my first uni and I want to ask is there any way that I can use the same sanction letter for other university too or any other alternative for this that what should I do in this situation

I understand your concern but how will you know whether height is an issue for her until you go ahead and speak to her? If you are worried about confessing your feelings for her directly, it's best you take things slow. Anyways, people are more likely to take such confessions on a positive note if they know the person.

You can start with a Hi, followed by letting her know that you have seen her around quite a few times. You can ask her what she does, and other general questions. Don't do it all in a single day; try building rapport slowly. This way you won't be putting too much pressure on yourself or on her.
