Hi my name is manish yadav. Weight 68kg and height 5feet and 9 inches. My fasting blood sugar is 113.0 my age 42. What should I do to decrease my sugar leval.

Ans: A fasting blood sugar level of 113 mg/dl is indicative of pre-diabetes. You can lower your blood sugar levels by following a low carbohydrate and low fat diet. Ensure consumption of whole grains like whole wheat, oats, jowar, bajra, beans, pulses, fruits and vegetables, which are rich in complex carbohydrates and fiber. Include adequate protein rich foods in your diet to blunt blood sugar spikes. Have small and frequent meals. Avoid sweets, alcohol, chocolates, fried foods, etc. Follow a regular exercise schedule to lower body fat.

Ans: As per your height and weight measurements, you are overweight. Follow a dietary regimen that includes high protein, low carbohydrate and low fat. Include foods with high fiber and complex carbohydrates like fruits, vegetables, millets, lentils, etc. Adopt a fitness schedule which include cardio and weight training to lose body fat percentage and increase muscle mass. This will help lower your blood glucose levels, improve Insulin resistance and bring down your weight.

Ans: Normal fasting sugar levels are between 70-100 mg/dl. A level of 174 mg/dl indicates blood sugar levels are out of the normal range. Consult a doctor for blood tests to be done and advise on medication. Do lifestyle modifications such as dietary restriction of sugar and physical exercise daily. Follow a healthy balanced diet and include fiber rich foods like whole grains, vegetables, fruits, beans, nuts, etc. in your diet. Have a high protein and fiber rich diet to increase satiety and blunt blood sugar spikes. Avoid high fat and sugary foods.

Madam,I am 51 years old .I am diabetic for the last 7 years.My weight is 73 and height is 5'2.My HBA1C is 6.5 at present.And fasting sugar is between 100 to 114 and PP ranges between 136 to 150.Presently I am on Jardiance 25 ,half tab in the morning and Tenglyn M 500 after dinner.What should be my diet and how do I reduce my sugar.

Ans: A diet to reduce blood sugar levels should include high fiber and complex carbohydrates like whole grains, vegetables, fruits, beans, pulses, etc. Foods to avoid include simple carbohydrates, which are processed, such as sugar, pasta, white bread, flour, and cookies, pastries, and namkeens. Protein foods should be had in every meal. Starchy or root vegetables should be eaten in moderation along with other fiber rich veggies. High glycemic index foods should be restricted. Adopt regular exercise.
