I am 55 year male so can please advice what diet needs to be followed on daily basis with how much calories.

Ans: Your ideal calorie intake depends on factors like age, sex and activity level. You can adjust this number based on your goals if you’re trying to gain or lose weight. Include complex carbohydrates such as brown rice, whole wheat, quinoa, oatmeal, fruits, vegetables, beans, and dals. Avoid foods like simple carbohydrates, which are processed, such as sugar, pasta, white bread, flour, and cookies, pastries, etc. Diet should be rich in fiber. Concentrated foods like sweets, chocolate cakes, pastries, ice creams and fried foods should be avoided. Drink plenty of water. Have a good sleep of 7-8 hours daily. Exercise for 30-40 minutes daily for at least 5 days in a week.

I am 55 years old, weight 115, height is 183 cms blood sugar level fasting 188 PP is 205 please advice what type of diet I should follow.

Ans: Fasting blood sugar levels of 188 is indicative of Diabetes. To control blood sugar spikes, you need to reduce weight by lowering your body fat percentage. A diet with complex carbohydrates like whole wheat , quinoa , Brown rice , oats , Broken wheat (dalia), sprouts , lentils , salads , green leafy vegetables and whole fruits should be taken in diet as they help in delaying the process of sugar release from foods. Small and frequent meals to be taken. A brisk walk for minimum 30 minutes 5 days a week is compulsory. Exercise is important to lose body fa and increase lean mass.

Requesting you not to panic at this early stage. Let her appear for JEE session 2 and the state-level engineering entrance test. Let all the results out. You have ample time to think about the available options for engineering admission. At this stage, no need to think about management quota unless and until you want a particular branch in a particular college. Depending on her score in upcoming exams, she may get admission to reputed engineering either in Pune or Bengaluru
