I have been working in a product based company for the past 7 years in an non-it background. Now i got an oppurtunity to work as an data analyst in the same company itself. But due to lack of skills and past experiance in this field, am facing a tough challenge here to understand what is happening in the team and the data analyst concepts. Am thinking to move back to the old team due to this. Am struck between whether to move to the old team or continue in this team. Can someone help me in this?

Hi Sir, Iam working in IT Company which is my second org joined in 2022 as of holding 4.5 years experience. These days I'm getting less work as customer is not creating issues due to which manager has added me in another product too but to my surprise I got to know that is going to be end of life and now I'm with the product which is getting less customer issues. Manager asking me upskill which iam ready always. Iam planning to shift from Java to Data Analyst as I'm interested in it. Hence could you please suggest me is this right time to shift and take chance, in Sept I get 2 years completion with my current org.

Ans: If you are interested in the data analytics domain, shifting after 4 or 5 years of experience with Java would be a perfect move. Numerous resources are available for free on YouTube and at nominal costs on platforms like Udemy, Coursera, etc. I would suggest learning SQL, Python, and one of the business intelligence tools like PowerBI or Tableau, which will serve you very well. I am happy to provide further advice if you have any follow-up questions on this.

Hi, I am 46 years old, with around 19 yrs of experience in Banking, Transaction Monitoring and little bit production support experience with knowledge in Power BI, SQL, Azure admin and Data Analysis, at present working with a well reputed company as an AM in IC role from past 9 years with a CTC around 9.5Lakhs. I think as per my experience my package is very low and I am thinking to change my domain/career in Data Analysis in Power BI. I like to know is it good decision to change the career path now?
