Ans: Rohith, Prefer SJCE Mysuru – EIE in Round 3 over RV University Nanjangud ECE. SJCE is the safer choice because it is an established engineering institution with a proven placement ecosystem and recruiter base. Ans: If possible, choose SJCE EIE in Round 3 over a brand-new, first-batch RV University campus. The final choice/decision will be yours.

Sir/Madam, I have taken admission for BMSCE core CSE branch in KCET councelling.. I am waiting for my Comedk result on September 1st . I have strong chance of getting RVCE Electronics and communication branch ... should I go for RVCE ECE? Fees will be higher ofcourse but BMS intake worries me .. what should I do?

Ans: Choose RVCE ECE over BMSCE CSE. I think for the right choice, one has to pay a little more.

Sir, my son got a chance at JGEC in the CSE department. My question is: in the decentralized counselling, should I opt for KGEC in the same branch if my son gets the opportunity? I have heard that KGEC has very poor infrastructure across all departments compared to JGEC. I live in Kolkata, which is the main reason I am considering KGEC. However, if the infrastructure is significantly worse, I would prefer to keep him at JGEC. Please help me make the right decision.

If you don’t secure a spot in a premier college initially, you may still have a chance in later rounds. Don’t just rely on student reviews; since both colleges are government-funded, it can be difficult to differentiate between them. You can make a decision based on the year of establishment and by visiting their websites to understand their pros and cons. If you have any doubts, since you live in Kolkata, you could visit the campuses to gather your own insights before making comments. Focus on the facilities rather than just the buildings.

Hello sir/ma'am, My younger brother has scored 58 percent pcb aggregate in this yr class 12th from cbse, he is taking his 1st drop for neet nd going to go for neet 2027. Recently we got to know that for aiims we need 60 percent nd for other gmc we need only 50 percent, can my brother give cbse improvement exam as a private candidate next yr with 2027 freshers in all 5 subjects?? Do the medical institutions like aiims nd other gmc accept improvement marksheet?? Kindly help

Hi Preeya,

Yes, he can opt for NIOS to complete his 12th grade. However, achieving a score of 60% is much easier compared to securing a seat in MBBS. A 60% in 12th grade is not enough, especially since the requirement is based on a 50% aggregate for categories other than SC and ST. He will need to put in significant effort, and you and parents must support him to achieve his goals. Additionally, he should have some basic math knowledge to tackle the physics subject questions in NEET paper, which often require problem-solving skills. Please make your/his decisions accordingly.

I gave CBSE 12th bords exams in 2024 with 6 subjects and my result was pass but i had RT in Chemistry because i only got 32/100 and I am NEET aspirant so i needed 50% aggregate in PCB btw i got 50 in Biology and 51 in Physics so i gave cbse improvement didn't clear it again so i opted NIOS in 2026 in ON DEMAND in single subject and Got 72 in chemistry not i have 2 marksheets is it acceptable? My total PCB aggregate is 57% now.... Would i face any problems ? Because there are some mixed answers here so i am worried kind of

Yes, it is accepted by the NTA. However, given your score, securing a medical seat will be very challenging. If you want to improve your score, you need to put in a lot of effort. Otherwise, consider exploring other health-related courses that are listed in the NTA prospectus. Please understand that I am not trying to discourage you; this is simply a fact. Many people underestimate the importance of math, but basic mathematics is necessary to solve problems in the physics section of the NEET exam.

If you are determined, you need to plan accordingly and dedicate yourself to achieving your goal. The choice is yours.

Sir I took admission to uvce cse after kcet round 2 results. Should I take part in round 3 of kcet now? I missed cse at bmsce by 335 ranks (general merit category) Will my original documents be given back? They also made us enter our details in the college ledger of uvce which was part of the admission process. I am also scared because of the huge seat intake of bmsce.Should I stay with uvce or is bmsce worth applying for next round ? Where do I have better placements guaranteed?

Ans: It is better to stay with UVCE CSE. You might be ineligible for KCET Round 3 after taking admission. UVCE offers better ROI, lower fees, and strong CSE placements; BMSCE’s higher intake doesn’t guarantee better outcomes. Over the next four years, focus on continuously strengthening your technical and non-technical skills, building a strong project and internship profile, and developing a professional network through LinkedIn with college faculty, seniors, alumni and professionals in your areas of interest. Sir like according to the new kea rules they told us to take admission for our round 2 allotment and then take part in round 3. So if I'm eligible would you suggest going for bmsce?

Ans: In the 2025 NIRF Engineering rankings, UVCE was ranked 99th, while BMSCE was placed in the 151–200 rank band. This difference reflects various NIRF parameters, including research, graduation outcomes, institutional performance and other factors, along with differences in student intake. BMSCE’s CSE intake has also increased significantly, from 336 students in 2023 to 1,200 from 2024 onwards, which could potentially lead to greater competition among students for placement opportunities. However, it is important to remember that placements are never guaranteed by any college, including IITs. Placement outcomes depend on several factors, including students’ skills, internships, projects, communication abilities and overall employability profile; academic performance is certainly important, but it is only one of the factors considered by recruiters. Considering UVCE’s relatively smaller intake and its established placement record, I would therefore suggest continuing with UVCE-CSE rather than changing to BMSCE solely for the college name or perceived placement advantage.

There are many ways to invest in Mutual Fund Schemes. GROWW app is a convenient way to invest into Mutual Fund Schemes.

You can select a scheme from various categories such as large cap, mid cap, small cap etc.

Please align your goal and investment horizon with the scheme you wish to invest in. Small cap schemes carry a high risk factor so as long as you understand and align your goal and expectations with it, you can go ahead but do keep in mind that you should plan for a long term (5 years and more) investment plan.

Sir, my son has already taken admission in BITS Goa campus for dual degree with M.Sc. Maths. Now, in MHT CET rounds, he got Chemical Engineering in ICT Mumbai. We are confused whether to accept Chemical Engineering in ICT or continue in BITS Goa with dual degree in Maths. Seek your guidance.

Ans: Anagha Madam, ICT Mumbai Chemical Engineering may certainly be considered, given the institute’s excellent reputation, particularly if your son has a genuine interest in Chemical Engineering (after checking BITS Refund Policy). However, I generally recommend giving higher priority to the branch that aligns with his interests and strengths and that he would be comfortable pursuing over the next 4–5 years, rather than choosing an institution solely for its reputation. If Chemical Engineering is not his preferred area, continuing with BITS Goa – M.Sc. Mathematics would be a more suitable option. All The Best for Your Son's Prosperous Future!
