Mr. Nayagam- am reading all your suggestions but am perplexed as to why are you so averse to Manipal. While am also in the process of deciding the course for my son and Manipal always was in my consideration set but your such strong views put me thinking. Could you please let me know after all what's wrong with Manipal?? After all, a lot students study there every year there and I suppose are doing well in their post college life after getting decent placements. Please do elaborate.

Ans: Manipal is a decent institute and you can opt for it. When you select a college you decide based on the other colleges that you have got an admit in and based on fees and placements and if it is worth spending so much money. Manipal has a higher fee. But if the course is correct you can get a decent placement.

As of now I have below options to choose from - 1. CSE at MIT, Manipal 2. CSE at Shiv Nadar, Noida 3. COMPUTER Engineering at Thapar 4. CSE at JIIT, SECTOR 62, Noida. Further, based on my son's rank, he could get any college and branch in IPU and a midtier branch like Mechanical / Electrical in NIT Delhi as well as in NSUT / DTU. could help me deciphering a right choice. Rgds. Amit
Ans: Either NIT or NSUT OR MIT Manipal.

Sir, We've observed that you tend to recommend institutions like VIT, which have a non-transparent category system (where you 'buy' your way up over other deserving students) over Manipal CSE at both the main campus and the Bangalore campus. You also seem to favor institutions such as RV (I am from RV and a Bangalorean for over 40 years) and BMS, which are no doubt good , but ranked lower than Main Manipal in their placements. Is there a particular reason for this bias against Manipal in your recommendations? Manipal Sikkim, we can understand. Please note, I do not have any family connections to Manipal nor We have anyone studying there. We are exploring fallback options including Manipal for our son in case he doesn't get his desired branch at BITS Pilani or NITs. If a reason as to why 'No Manipal' it'll be helpful for all. Thank you for your guidance.
Ans: Thanks for your feedback. Regarding Manipal, it is one of the top-ranked universities with good placements. I had clearly mentioned it is not suitable, only for SOME (not all) students due to some reasons and the feedback I got some from Manipal students on 'Non-Academic / Psychological' Factors. Psychological factors also play an important role for careers. There are students who are academically strong, but psychologically might be average or below. Regarding VIT, most of the parents'/candidates' questions do not specifically refer about the Category they got. If they clearly mention about the category, I reply accordingly that, to go for VIT only if they can afford the fees. I hope I have clarified your clarified your doubt. Thanks once again for your feedback and for reading my answers. All the BEST for Your Son's Bright Future.

Which is better option CSE in HMR Institute OR IT IN Akhilesh das gupta.
Ans: Ansh, HMR Institute of Technology & Management’s B.Tech CSE, affiliated with GGSIPU and approved by AICTE, operates in a metropolitan setting with industry?oriented software, networking and data?structures labs and a proactive entrepreneurship cell. Over the last three years, its CSE branch achieved placement rates of 73% in 2023 and 83% in 2024, with top recruiters including Amazon, Wipro, TCS, Infosys and Adobe and an average package of ?5.35 LPA. Faculty are engaged in applied research projects, though detailed PhD?qualification data is limited. Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Institute of Professional Studies (ADGITM), formerly ADGITM, is NBA?accredited, NAAC A++ and ranked in the 151–200 band by NIRF, with a Corporate Resource Centre coordinating internships and 80–82% placement consistency over recent years and a median salary around ?5 LPA. IT students access specialized labs in software engineering, multimedia and cybersecurity, and benefit from 1 000+ recruiter tie?ups including TCS, IBM and Deloitte. ADGITM’s compact campus fosters personalized mentorship under largely PhD?qualified faculty.

Recommendation: For stronger average placement percentages, metropolitan industry exposure and a focused CSE curriculum, recommendation is HMR Institute CSE. If you prioritise broader accreditation credentials, a dedicated CRC, and slightly higher median IT placements, choose ADGITM IT. All the BEST for Admission & a Prosperous Future!

I have got amrita blr campus eee, 9814 rank in comedk. I might get CSD in DSCE or any other branch through comedk. My hs is WB soni might take admission in cse in techno mains . What should i choose?
Ans: Amrita University Bengaluru’s B.Tech EEE admits via AEEE with closing ranks around 20454 and leverages NAAC A++ accreditation, NBA-approved faculty, dedicated power-electronics and robotics labs, industry tie-ups (Bosch, Siemens), and reports 85–90% placement consistency over the last three years. Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering’s BE CSD (Computer Science & Design) closes at COMEDK ranks of 3436–5261, but at rank 9814 your chances are minimal; DSCE’s CSD benefits from NBA accreditation, modern UI/UX and multimedia labs, and branch placements near 68%. Techno India University Kolkata’s WBJEE closing rank for B.Tech CSE (AI & ML) spans 5966–20190, making your rank of 9814 comfortably eligible; the program offers NAAC A accreditation, specialized AI/ML and data-analytics labs, industry collaborations with Cognizant and TCS, and ~75% placement rates over three years.

recommendation
Given assured admission, strong EEE infrastructure, and higher placement stability, recommendation is Amrita Bengaluru EEE. If you prioritize core CS specialization in design and AI, pursue Techno India Kolkata CSE (AI & ML). Avoid DSCE CSD due to rank constraints. All the BEST for Admission & a Prosperous Future!

Sir sastra Thanjavur cse(AIDS) , Vit vellore cse , manipal benguluru cse Which is better
Ans: Charan, All three programs are NBA- and NAAC-accredited with modern AI/ML, data-science, and software-engineering labs and strong industry partnerships. SASTRA Thanjavur reports an 83% overall UG placement rate (1684/1920 in 2024) with a median package of ?7.6 LPA, driven by recruiters like Morgan Stanley, Infosys, and Reliance; it benefits from dedicated Bajaj BEST and research centers. VIT Vellore achieves 85–90% placement consistency, with 867 companies offering 7,526 offers in 2024, an average package of ?9.9 LPA, and ABET accreditation for its CSE program. Manipal Bengaluru (MAHE) CSE records an 81% branch placement rate, average CSE package of ?13.1 LPA, and 73% overall placement, supported by 220+ recruiters and a robust Career Development Centre. Faculty at all three are predominantly PhD-qualified, with SASTRA and VIT holding top national rankings (SASTRA NIRF-75 Engineering; VIT NIRF-10 Universities), while MAHE Bengaluru offers strong metropolitan industry exposure.

Final recommendation: For highest average CSE packages and metropolitan placements, recommendation is Manipal Bengaluru CSE. For balanced ROI with strong AI labs and national prestige, choose VIT Vellore CSE. If mid-tier median packages, research centers, and specialized AI & DS focus are priorities, opt for SASTRA Thanjavur CSE (AI & DS). All the BEST for Admission & a Prosperous Future!

My son is admitted in IIT Jammu for MTech in Bio Sciences and Bio Engineering with specialisation in Medical Equipment. Is this a right choice for his placement after MTech. Or he should persue a PhD program later.
Ans: Kuldeep Sir, IIT Jammu’s new BSBE department (est. 2021) boasts interdisciplinary research in medical devices, bioelectronics, AI-driven healthcare, and 3D bioprinting with state-of-the-art labs such as biomedical instrumentation and computational biology. The MTech cohort achieved a 78.6% placement rate in 2024, with a median package of ?9.15 LPA and top recruiters spanning medical-device firms and healthcare consultancies. India’s medical-device market is projected to reach ?88 320 cr, driving demand for engineers skilled in design, regulatory affairs, and clinical engineering across PSUs and MNCs such as Siemens Healthcare, Medtronic, and GE Healthcare. While an MTech provides strong industry entry and practical exposure, a PhD opens roles in R&D leadership, regulatory policy, and academia—with higher long-term earning potential but delayed earnings.

Recommendation: For immediate industry entry with solid placement prospects in medical-device design and clinical engineering, recommendation is to pursue IIT Jammu MTech in Medical Equipment. If aiming for advanced R&D leadership, regulatory strategy, or a career in academia, consider enrolling in a PhD after gaining 1–2 years of industry experience. All the BEST for Admission & a Prosperous Future!

Hello sir, My son has got CSE in MIT Manipal campus and is also hopeful to get MSc Maths (Dual Degree, that might open a door to get BE-CSE in second year) in BITS Pilani. What is your suggestion he should opt for?
Ans: MIT Manipal’s four?year B.Tech CSE is NBA and NAAC?accredited, taught by 120+ PhD?qualified faculty in specialised AI/ML, cybersecurity, IoT and software?engineering labs, on a Wi-Fi campus with Innovation Centre and global exchange. Its dedicated placement cell recorded 77% overall and ~81% CSE branch placements in 2025, with 230+ recruiters including Amazon, Bosch and Microsoft. BITS Pilani’s five-year integrated M.Sc. Mathematics dual-degree (Group B + BE CSE option) is NAAC A+ rated, led by eminent researchers, offers rigorous master’s-level courses, Practice School internships and capstone projects, with 73.6% batch placements in 2024 and average packages of ?19.7 LPA via top tech recruiters. Dual-degree students compete for BE-CSE seats after Year 1 based on CGPA, adding flexibility for a software career.

Final recommendation: If your son seeks research depth, a master’s credential, and the chance to pivot into BE-CSE in Year 2, choose BITS Pilani M.Sc. Mathematics Dual-Degree. Else, for strong immediate placements, cutting-edge labs, and a four-year timeline, the recommendation is MIT Manipal CSE for him. All the BEST for Admission & a Prosperous Future!
