Sir, We've observed that you tend to recommend institutions like VIT, which have a non-transparent category system (where you 'buy' your way up over other deserving students) over Manipal CSE at both the main campus and the Bangalore campus. You also seem to favor institutions such as RV (I am from RV and a Bangalorean for over 40 years) and BMS, which are no doubt good , but ranked lower than Main Manipal in their placements. Is there a particular reason for this bias against Manipal in your recommendations? Manipal Sikkim, we can understand. Please note, I do not have any family connections to Manipal nor We have anyone studying there. We are exploring fallback options including Manipal for our son in case he doesn't get his desired branch at BITS Pilani or NITs. If a reason as to why 'No Manipal' it'll be helpful for all. Ans: Mainpal (Main Campus) is one of the top-ranked Universities. But for some students, Mainpal Main Campus is not advisable. If your son is mentally strong enough & highly mature with good Emotional Intelligence / Emotional Quotient, he can go ahead with Manipal Main Campus. Else, work out Plan B & Plan C. Hope you have understood. Whatever Institute / University & Branch your Son chooses, he should keep upgrading his skills from his 1st year itself till his Campus Placement during his last year, from LinkedIn, Coursera, NPTEL, Internshala etc. and / or any other online platforms, recommended by his College Faculties, to be COMPETENT among other Students.

Ans: For a 1.78 Lac JEE Rank, it is difficult to get CSE Branch at any Tier 1 College (Govt & Private). KIITEE is a very reputed and top-ranked Institute. Have KIITEE is your 1st preference. As far as Manipal-Bengaluru is concerned, please note (1) Manipal is one of the top-ranked Universities in India, having branches even in the North, with very good placement records. (2) But for some Students (NOT for all Students, please note), Manipal based in Karnataka, it is not suitable. (3) If a Student, who wishes to join, is mentally strong, and mature with a high emotional quotient / emotional intelligence (non-academic factors), he/she can go for it. No issue. I hope I have clarified your doubts. (Or) the other option, (only) if you can afford, you can try for any reputed Private College through MQ (Management Quota). Ans: You have not mentioned in which-all Entrance Exams you appeared (COMEDK \ KCET etc.)? However, order of Preference (1) PES (Electronic City) (2) MIT-Bengaluru (here, however, please note, for some students this is not suitable due to its culture (non-academic / psychological factors). (3) VIT-Vellore (check the fee structure of all 4-years for affordability). If you have appeared in COMEDK & KCET also, find out 1-2 options even the colleges belong to Tier 2 category. Whatever Institute / University / Branch / Domain you choose, keep upgrading your skills from 1st year itself till your Campus Placement during your last year, from LinkedIn, NPTEL, Coursera, Internshala etc. and / or any other online platforms, recommended by your College Faculties, to be COMPETENT among other Students, for jobs.
