Dear Mayank,
I'm a marketing professional and I want to know if this is a good time to look out for a new job?
I read reports in the newspaper that people are being laid off in companies.
I have been in the present company for over four years now and am bored of my current profile.
But I don't want to take any hasty decision. Should I wait it out or move out?
Also in the current scenario, will I be able to get a good hike?

My personal advice for anyone looking for a job change is that you must first explore all possible internal career options in your current company.

This would include a promotion, relocation or even change in role or function.

Sales jobs will always be in high demand as it's a revenue generation role.

I am 27 year old man. Iam currently working in BPO from last 4 year but did not get any promotion due to switching companies. I earn 30k per month and have work from home job also I am having MBA in HR. I am little worry about my future as most people say there is no scope in the BPO field. Should i quit my job and look for HR job? If i look for another job in different field i have to start from 0. What will be the best option? Also have night shifts currently with 2 week off.

Ans: Check your interest. If your interest lies in HR, then it makes sense to change your field and move to HR roles. Initially you will have to start from scratch but as you gain experience you will be able to get promotion and responsibilities. Avoid switching jobs too frequently as it will not help in the long run.

Hi Sir, Iam working in IT Company which is my second org joined in 2022 as of holding 4.5 years experience. These days I'm getting less work as customer is not creating issues due to which manager has added me in another product too but to my surprise I got to know that is going to be end of life and now I'm with the product which is getting less customer issues. Manager asking me upskill which iam ready always. Iam planning to shift from Java to Data Analyst as I'm interested in it. Hence could you please suggest me is this right time to shift and take chance, in Sept I get 2 years completion with my current org.

Ans: If you are interested in the data analytics domain, shifting after 4 or 5 years of experience with Java would be a perfect move. Numerous resources are available for free on YouTube and at nominal costs on platforms like Udemy, Coursera, etc. I would suggest learning SQL, Python, and one of the business intelligence tools like PowerBI or Tableau, which will serve you very well. I am 28 years old. I have beem working in a state run PSU for last 3 years.I have a Btech(From private) and Mtech(from IIT Kharagpur) in electrical engineering.For past few months I have been planning to pursue MBA and consequently get into corporate sector. Is it a right time to dive into corporate world given the current situation of job market in India.

Ans: If you are interested than you can pursue MBA. Write both the CAT and the GMAT and see where you get a better college. If you do not get it next year then can try for Executive MBA course which requires a 5 years work ex.

Hello, I'm about to finish my third year in b.a. in economics, I want to earn money with a settled job for my parents. I'm confused rn, I want to prepare for SSC CGL, and earn good, but I fear of taking a gap after my graduation, since my college is very strict towards attendance and load is too much thus I don't want to go there again for my pg, idk if I should do private MBA or ma in economics or any other diploma in computer related or finance related course while simultaneously doing my preparation since I don't want to do nothing while sitting at home.(Btw I'm from Agra and it's getting hard for me to find good college where I can do my Master's in economics non-regular mode in reasonable fee)

Hi Sir, My Son is studying in 11th std with PCMCs and preparing both for NATA and CET. He was an average student in tenth scoring 55%, we are hoping for better performance in his 12th board. Currently we are staying in Bangalore. We need your suggestion in choosing between BArch or BE (Civil/Mech/Electrical). Which one will be better for him in difficulty level, fee structure, future job prospects and if he wants to Masters, whether he can continue in India or abroad. If abroad which countries or university are good for him for masters. Thank you

Ans: In B.Arch difficulty level is less but he must be good in drawing. A candidate who is bad in drawing can't be an Architect, even if he becomes he will fail in professional life. BE (Civil/Mech/Electrical) needs good knowledge of Maths and Physics. From his 10th score it seems to be he is an below average student. Fee structure is mostly same in both. For Masters we can think afterwards, no question of long term planning. In abroad always USA is the best for Engineering. Best of luck. Regards. Hi , I am planning to pursue a master's degree from Australia in 2025 Feb intake and got my education loan sanctioned from a bank too, but the university requires some interview process for confirming my admission and the interview is done now and it's been more than 1 month I didn't got any reply from the University of whether my admission is confirmed or not , because of the new law of student capping in Australia they are putting it on hold and now I have a offer letter from other university too but the thing is my sanction letter is already used for my first uni and I want to ask is there any way that I can use the same sanction letter for other university too or any other alternative for this that what should I do in this situation

I understand your concern but how will you know whether height is an issue for her until you go ahead and speak to her? If you are worried about confessing your feelings for her directly, it's best you take things slow. Anyways, people are more likely to take such confessions on a positive note if they know the person.

You can start with a Hi, followed by letting her know that you have seen her around quite a few times. You can ask her what she does, and other general questions. Don't do it all in a single day; try building rapport slowly. This way you won't be putting too much pressure on yourself or on her.
