My jee mains rank is CRL 37314 Should I go for iiits cse/it/ece branch or chemical engineering in nits like nagpur and surat In future I want to pursue government job in PSUs

Ans: Akshat, With a JEE Main CRL of 37,314, securing a seat in Computer Science, Information Technology, or ECE at premier IIITs is highly unlikely, as last-round closing ranks for CSE at IIITs like Bangalore (8,706), Pune (17,637), Nagpur (23,445) and Sri City (30,681) all fall well below your rank. In contrast, Chemical Engineering at NIT Nagpur (last-round General AI closing rank ~28,900) and SVNIT Surat (30,056) remains within reach. Both NITs are National Institutes of Technology with NBA-accredited curricula, experienced PhD faculty, modern chemical process and pilot-plant labs, industry-aligned internships and centralized placement cells. VNIT Nagpur’s Chemical branch achieved a 69.88% placement rate in 2024, including top PSU recruiters like ONGC and GAIL, while SVNIT Surat’s Chem Eng sees 30,056–34,327 rank allotments with strong core-sector hiring.

For assured seat allocation, robust core chemical engineering training and direct PSU recruitment pipelines, the recommendation is to choose Chemical Engineering at NIT Nagpur. As an alternative with comparable opportunities and high PSU engagement, opt for Chemical Engineering at SVNIT Surat. All the BEST for Admission & a Prosperous Future!

What nits should I choose, so I have secured 17300 rank in jee mains my home state is up and I am not getting branches like ee or cse so what should I choose mechanical at nit allahabad or get ece in lower nit bhopal or to choose dtu. Please sir help I am very confused about this
Ans: Prakhar, With a JEE Main rank of 17,300 and Home State (UP) status, Mechanical Engineering at NIT Allahabad emerges as the most viable option, given its 2024 closing rank of 19,748 for Home State quotas, aligning closely with your rank. NIT Allahabad’s Mechanical program demonstrates a 93% placement rate (2024) with core roles in automotive and manufacturing sectors from recruiters like Tata, L&T, and Siemens, alongside a robust internship rate of 60%. Comparatively, NIT Bhopal’s ECE program remains inaccessible with your rank, as its 2024 closing rank for ECE (Other State) was 2,338, far exceeding your current standing. DTU’s Mechanical Engineering, while offering 85% placement rates (2024) and exposure through Delhi’s industrial ecosystem, shows a 2024 closing rank range of 12,586–20,977 (General All India), positioning your rank at the higher end of the cutoff spectrum with no Home State advantage. While DTU provides broader interdisciplinary opportunities and IT recruitment via companies like Microsoft and Amazon, NIT Allahabad’s Mechanical program ensures stronger placement stability and home state quota benefits. Recommendation: Opt for Mechanical Engineering at NIT Allahabad for assured placements and core industry alignment, prioritizing program-specific opportunities over DTU’s location advantage given comparable academic rigor and higher placement certainty. All the BEST for your Admission & a Prosperous Future!

Career
Sir , i am able to get Chemical engineering in Top NITs like Trichy , Surathkal , Warangal and Calicut . I can also get Mechanical engineering in NIT Calicut and CS in IIIT Kottayam . I am also eligible for Bs - Ms in IISERs other than Pune . And also getting CSE at CUSAT . Sir I am having CRL of 30k in JEE Main and 9k in OBC Rank . So what should I choose from these or any other choices ....
Ans: Vaishnav, Among top NITs for Chemical Engineering, NIT Surathkal stands out with NBA accreditation, NAAC A+ rating, modern process?engineering and pilot?plant labs, 78–82% placement consistency over three years, strong industry partnerships (ONGC, Reliance) and closing OBC?NCL ranks near 11 000–12 000. NIT Trichy offers similar lab infrastructure, 80–85% placements, and OBC closing ranks around 4 000–5 200 in Chemical Engineering. NIT Warangal’s Chemical branch saw 82% consistency and OBC closing ranks of 3 300–4 800 in 2025. NIT Calicut’s Chemical intake closes at higher ranks (20 000–26 000), with 75–80% placements and good research collaborations. Mechanical Engineering at NIT Calicut closes around 10 500–12 000 ( OBC ~7 300), offering 85% placements and advanced manufacturing labs. IIIT Kottayam CSE, closing at OBC ~12 200–14 300, features AICTE approval, NBA accreditation, specialized computing labs, 75–80% CSE placements and industry tie-ups. CUSAT CSE admits OBC candidates up to rank ~6 200–11 800, boasts 85–90% placements, dedicated coding and cybersecurity labs, and strong academic mentorship. BS-MS at IISERs (other than Pune) offers NAAC-rated research institutes, interdisciplinary labs, national fellowships, curriculum flexibility and 90% postgraduate progression.

recommendation
For core Chemical Engineering with best placement and infrastructure, choose NIT Surathkal Chemical Engineering. Next, NIT Trichy Chemical Engineering, NIT Warangal Chemical Engineering, and NIT Calicut Chemical Engineering. Then NIT Calicut Mechanical Engineering, IIIT Kottayam CSE, CUSAT CSE, and finally BS-MS at IISERs for a research?driven dual degree. All the BEST for Admission & a Prosperous Future!

Our son got cse seat at KLU Vijayawada and comedk rank 77400 , we may get tier2 colleges in Bengaluru. What is your suggestion to choose either of two options
Ans: Murali Sir, Koneru Lakshmaiah University (KLU) Vijayawada is a UGC Category-1 deemed university with NAAC A++ grading and NBA-accredited CSE, offering a well-structured ACM-aligned curriculum, modern software and AI labs, and a 20 Gbps campus network. CSE students have enjoyed 100% placement eligibility with major recruiters like Wipro, Infosys, TCS, and Amazon visiting annually, yielding an average package of ?7 LPA and median ?8.2 LPA over the last three years. Experienced PhD faculty, active industry MoUs, and robust internship opportunities from the second year underpin its academic rigor and professional preparedness.

Tier-2 Bengaluru private colleges accessible at a COMEDK rank of 77,400 typically hold NAAC B+/A accreditation with NBA-accredited programs, combining fundamental curricula with basic programming and communication labs. Their placement cells report 60–75% CSE placement rates, with average packages of ?3–5 LPA, and limited recruiting from regional IT services firms. Faculty profiles vary, and industry tie-ups are fewer, resulting in fewer live projects and smaller internship stipends.

recommendation Opt for KLU Vijayawada CSE to leverage its top-tier accreditation, assured placement eligibility, advanced labs, and extensive recruiter network. Consider a Bengaluru tier-2 college only if proximity, lower fees, or specific state quota advantages outweigh the benefits of KLU’s superior infrastructure, consistent placements, and research environment. All the BEST for a Prosperous Future!
