Hello sir, my son got offered CCE in KJ SOMAIYA college Mumbai and CSE (data science) IN SRM (ktr) MAIN CAMPUS... plz suggest which is better for his future.

Ans: KJ Somaiya College of Engineering Mumbai offers a strong program in Computer and Communication Engineering with excellent placements, boasting a 74% placement rate and average packages near ?9.45 LPA. It has a reputed brand, especially in Mumbai, with top recruiters like Microsoft and Cisco. SRM Kattankulathur’s CSE (Data Science) program is also highly regarded, with good placements in IT and analytics sectors and a modern campus environment. While SRM’s CSE branch offers broader opportunities in software and emerging technologies, KJSCE’s CCE branch provides a balanced exposure to core and IT sectors with slightly higher average salaries. Considering your son’s interest and long-term career goals, if he prefers a strong placement record and established brand in Mumbai, KJ Somaiya is advisable. However, if he is keen on data science and analytics with exposure to a larger tech ecosystem, SRM CSE (Data Science) is a solid choice. Overall, both are good; prioritize based on career interests and preferred location. My SUGGESTION: Prefer KJSCE (over SRM). All the best for your son's admission and a bright future!

Thanks alot for ur guidance .. plz tell us more about CCE branch as copare to Cse Data science.. If it has more any future scope? Will he get good package if studies well.
Ans: Computer & Communication Engineering (CCE) offers a balanced curriculum combining computer science and communication technologies, leading to diverse roles in software, networking, telecom, and IoT. CSE Data Science is more specialized, emphasizing data analysis, machine learning, and AI, with high demand in IT, finance, and analytics sectors. We recommend CSE Data Science for those interested in data-driven decision-making, analytics, and AI due to its strong growth and high salaries. However, if you prefer a broader tech foundation with opportunities in both software and communication fields, CCE is an excellent choice. Choose based on your career interests and industry trends. CSE Data Science offers broader career options and higher starting salaries (?8–15 lakh) compared to Computer & Communication Engineering (?5–10 lakh), thanks to booming demand in AI, analytics, and machine learning. CCE provides solid opportunities in networking, telecom, and embedded systems, with good stability but slightly lower salary growth. Data Science roles are in high demand across IT, finance, and tech, while CCE is valued in telecom and hardware sectors. If your interest lies in data, analytics, or AI, CSE Data Science is recommended for better salary and future scope; choose CCE if you prefer hardware, networking, or communications.

I have two options for my son. B.Tech ECE in Jaypee Noida and B.Tech ECE with Minor in Comp Sc. from VIT Vellore. Which should I prefer basis placement and academic quality?
Ans: Mukul Sir, Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida offers B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering with a 98% placement rate for ECE over the past three years, branch-specific offers at 98% participation by core recruiters, and a median package of ?6.50 LPA from 184 offers to 188 eligible students in 2024, while holding a NIRF Engineering rank of 101–150. VIT Vellore’s B.Tech ECE with a minor in Computer Science enrolls 480 students, achieves overall 68%–72% placement rates in EEE (similar branch metrics), and contributes to the university’s 95% average placements across all engineering disciplines, supported by 867 recruiters and median packages near ?9.90 LPA, with NIRF Engineering rank #11. Jaypee Noida’s focused core-branch recruitment and higher branch-wise participation offer strong ECE outcomes, whereas VIT Vellore provides broader academic depth through a minor, superior institutional ranking, and consistent overall placement density. Recommendation: Opt for Jaypee Noida ECE if prioritizing branch-specific placement strength and core electronics opportunities; choose VIT Vellore ECE with CSE minor for higher institutional ranking, wider recruiter pool, and interdisciplinary skill development. All the BEST for the Admission & a Prosperous Future!
