Hi, i got 1.4 lakh rank in jee obc rank- 49k I want to pursue cs but getting no good colleges for cs, what are my options? Should i consider newton school of tech? Since many people say its not good idk what to think
Ans: Tarun, With a JEE Main rank of 1.4 lakh (OBC rank 49,000), it is not possible to secure a CSE seat in any NIT or IIIT, as even the least competitive NITs and IIITs close CSE admissions for OBC candidates well below this rank. Alternatives include private universities and state colleges, which accept higher ranks and offer CSE, but may have varying placement outcomes. Newton School of Technology is an emerging ed-tech-driven institution with industry-oriented curriculum, strong mentorship, and a reported 98% placement rate, average package of ?12 lakh, and recruiters like Flipkart, Genpact, and Zomato. Student reviews highlight modern infrastructure, hands-on learning, and personalized mentorship, but also note that placement statistics may be inflated and the brand is still new, lacking the legacy and peer reputation of established universities. The recommendation is to consider Newton School of Technology if you value practical, industry-focused learning and strong placement support, but also apply to reputable private colleges and compare their campus life, alumni network, and placement records before making a final decision. All the BEST for the Admission & a Prosperous Future!
