Hello sir, My daughter get Electronics in VLSI in VIT and also get mechanical(Robotics) in Institute of Engineering and Management(IEM) a private institution in Kolkata. Which one is good future prospect? Please suggest

Ans: Sir,

1) ‘Robotics’ is a growing field with a vast array of exciting career opportunities.

2) ‘Robotics’ is an interdisciplinary engineering field which focuses on the Design, Development, and Implementation of Robots & Automated Systems. It combines the principles from Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Software Engineering to create intelligent machines capable of performing self-directed or human-guided tasks.

3) A BTech in ‘Robotics’ Engineering provides your son with the in-depth knowledge and skills required to lead such technological advancements.

4) Career Options:

a) Robotics Machine Learning Engineer
b) Developer of Robotics Software
c) Scientist in Artificial Intelligence Robotics
d) Project Manager for Robotics
e) Consultant in Robotics
f) Engineer for Drons & More

As such, Mechanical (Robotics) is a better option than VLSI in VIT.

I hope I have clarified your doubts.

If you need any other clarifications for your Daughter or have questions for anyone, post your questions (in detail) to me and/or follow me here in RediffGURU to know more on ‘Careers / Education / Jobs’.

Can she pursue M Tech or Phd in robotics?
Ans: Thanks Sir for Coming Back. Yes, She Can. However, it is advisable to work for 2-3 years after competing her UG and then try for MTech or PhD in Robotics either in India (or) Abroad.

Sir VIT vellore has good nirf ranking and naccA++ grade where as Inst of engineering and management, kolkata have less nirf ranking and Naac A+ grade. So considering the factor which course u suggest? Btech electronics specialization in vlsi design un vit vellore or btech mechanical specialization in robotics and automation.
Ans: Sir, VIT has Overall NIRF Ranking with NACCA++ for most of the Courses (Not, only for VLSI Design). Keeping this in view, your daughter's interest, location & campus placement factors, it is better to decide accordingly Sir.
