Hello. I am a 12th class student studying pcm from state board. I have my friends who gave nios and normal board simultaneously and it was totally acceptable by any college. Now even i want to give nios board in pcb or pcmb stream this year. The nios board conducts exam twice march-april and sept-oct. Therefore i will write the Sept-oct shift and get my board certificate. Since there is no age limit for neet, next year i will give neet exam prepared. NOTE: NEET ACCEPTS THE NIOS BOARD.

The first and foremost point is that you shouldn't follow your friends blindly. This generation is heavily influenced by their peers and often disregards the advice of older individuals, which can negatively impact the stability of your life.

I understand that you enjoy watching a lot of movies, which may be why you want to pursue your 12th grade through both NIOS and the State Board.

To be eligible for the NEET exam, you are required to study biology, along with physics and chemistry. Currently, you are focusing on PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) and are not studying biology. Therefore, you MUST enroll in NIOS to meet the eligibility criteria set by NEET.

Hello, I have completed my 10th-12th class from abroad and I am preparing for NEET 2023. The school followed American Credit system and I have school graduation certificate and my grades were accepted by CBSE equivalence. However, I am concerned regarding the eligibility criteria for NEET as I had Chemistry in only 11th, Physics in only 12th and Bio in 10th and 12th standard due to the school system offering separate courses each year. I did not have PCB in a single year but I have completed all PCB high-school equivalent courses. Am I still eligible? If not, then what should I do? Is NIOS an option for me?

Ans: Hi
In my understanding, NEET eligibility requires one to have taken Physics, Chem and Bio in one sitting. Since that is not an option in your case, I would suggest you reach out to some med schools that you aspire to attend and explain this situation to them. Many a times, they agree. If nothing works, complete the NIOS with all three subjects in one sitting.
In all probability, it should not be an issue if it has been considered a CBSE equivalent.

Regarding NIOS, what sort of course or On demand exam should I choose to get a qualification certificate for PCB before NEET 2024? For context, I have done my high school from abroad and taken PCB in separate years, but I have an aggregate of 91%. However, NEET eligibility criteria needs one to have completed PCB together in the last year. In order to counter that, do I need to repeat the whole 12th from NIOS or just separate PCB on demand exams would suffice?

Ans: Just a PCB on demand would suffice as you already have other subjects to exhibit evidence for your high school equivalence

I have passed +2 in commerce, and english, bengali in languages, all from West Bengal Board of Higher secondary education. Now if I give PCB from NIOS on demand exam, will i be eligible for NEET??

Ans: Hi,

I have some doubts regarding your query. Based on the information available, candidates who have completed their +2 from NIOS are eligible to write NEET (as allowed in 2024). However, your situation is different because you have completed +2 in Commerce through WBB and now wish to complete +2 in PCB through NIOS.

Since you have already completed +2 in Commerce, joining +2 in PCB would be considered a second attempt. Given that this is a second attempt in education, I believe the medical council may not allow you to gain admission to a medical program.

Yes, as a PCM student, you can still appear for the NEET exam by taking Biology through NIOS to meet the eligibility criteria for NEET. To be eligible for NEET, you need to have studied PCB in your 12th grade, with Biology being a compulsory subject. But you can take Biology as an additional subject through NIOS. who allows students to take Biology as an additional subject. You will need to appear for the Biology exam through NIOS alongside your regular studies. Contact your nearest NIOS center or online for admission. Do this process as early as possible.

Hello sir this is Nishat , I passed my 12th in the year 2023 with a good percentage but however I couldn’t see it for chemistry exam. So obviously I failed in that subject so I decided to again reappear for that exam and in 2024 I gave betterment exam from my state board in the subject biology and chemistry. However I scored far better in biology than last time but (Chemistry) I don’t know maybe it’s it’s because of the issues that we have with our board. I couldn’t score good marks so even I had decided to give (Chemistry) separately and so in 2024. I again set for (Chemistry) exam under nios I and I scored 80 so now the thing is that I’ll be having two mark sheet so while applying in need I cannot possibly select the code 2 because although I already have the state board certificate but the NIOS certificate is not yet out and it will be out by end of the March sir can I possibly select the code one that is appearing or will it create problems while counselling or is there any other option please help me out sir , I’m very desperate like I have prepared for neey for the last two years and I don’t want to put my hard work into vain. Please Sir help me out

Please select code 1 without any fear. Focus more on your study. But considering your fear and anxiety with the chemistry subject, it is recommended that you choose other options than NEET. This time you appear without any fear.
