My son got Mechanical in BITS Hyderabad. Should he opt for it or repeat for a better branch?

Ans: Congrats to your Son for getting confirmed admission into VIT & BITS.

Prefer CSE (AL & ML) in VIT. As far as BITS Branches are concerned, Pilani Branch is best. As your Son has got ME in its Hyderabad Branch, it is better to go for CSE (AI & ML) in VIT as it is a fast growing domain.

Wherever your son joins, he should keep upgrading his knowledge & skills from 1st year itself to be competent in job market.

Ans: Order of Preference of BITS-Campus (1) Pilani (2) Hyderabad (3) Dubai (if affordable & son gets CSE/ECE) & (4) Goa Campus. Order of Preference of Courses (1) CSE (2) ECE (3) Mechanical (4) EE (5) E & I (6) Chemical. However, he should keep upgrading his skills from his 1st year itself till his Campus Placement during his last year, from LinkedIn, Coursera, NPTEL, Internshala etc. and / or any other online platforms, recommended by his College Faculties, to be COMPETENT among other Students.

Ans: Encourage your son to research further, visit campuses (if possible), and choose based on his goals.

If your son is passionate about IT and prefers a more relaxed atmosphere, consider IIIT Lucknow.
If he’s interested in Mechanical Engineering, BITS is a solid choice.
IIT Hyderabad is excellent academically may be aligned with his interests.
