Dr Dipankar Dutta is an associate professor in the computer science and engineering department at the University Institute of Technology, the University of Burdwan, West Bengal.
He has 27 years of experience and his interests include AI, data science, machine learning, pattern recognition, deep learning and evolutionary computation.
Aside from his responsibilities at the college, he also delivers lectures and conducts webinars.
Dr Dipankar has published 25 papers in international journals, written book chapters, attended conferences, served as a board observer for WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) exams and as a counsellor for engineering college admissions in West Bengal. He helps students choose the right college and stream for undergraduate, masters and PhD programmes.
A senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (SMIEEE), he holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from the Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College and a an MTech degree in computer technology from Jadavpur University.

What are the other good options in India for students who have taken PCM with biology other than NEET? Please suggest the best courses with the institute name in India?

Ans: The candidate can do courses in Microbiology or Pharmacy. Good Pharmacists are in tremendous demand, MBBS is not the only line. Another stream is Biotechnology, apart from that Bioinformatics is there. Some more very specialized streams are genetics, biostatistics, molecular biology. Institute names I won't recommend. I have completed M.Tech in Biotechnology.I like to work in R&D department in a biopharma company.Thereafter gaining experience,I have a plan to do PhD,so that I can get back to Industry side again.But most of the R&D jobs will get filled by reference.What can I do in such a case?

Ans: If you are interested in RnD then continue with your plan. If you do well you should land up with good openings. Need not worry about jobs with reference as there will be lot of vacancies that will be available.

Sir, my son is in last year of bsc chemistry, now he wanted to change his stream from bsc chemistry to IT. For that he plan to pursue certificate course at IIT mandi in minor computer science, then certificate course in cloud computing at IIT. Will this certificate course will help him to get the good job in IT sector? Or is there any other way to enter into IT sector for non IT background student?

I am 66 years old and retired in 2019 with a retirement settlement corpus of 70 lakhs. I also inherited 50lakhs. I own a flat in MP valued at 1.4 cr. This is mortgaged as collateral for my daughter's international education to the tune of 32 lakhs. I also own a flat in mumbai worth 2.4 crores and another small real estate investment worth 25 lakhs. Due to improper investments and no income for last five years and also the fact that I have been living in MP while my wife with two adult kids was living in mumbai, we have consumed most of the corpus on living and managing two homes and now have only about 40 lacs in savings.. We dont have any other loans. My wife has to take care of her 85 yr old mother who has willed my wife her flat located in another city which is worth 1.2 crore and has about 50 lacs in FDs... Please advise on what is the best way ahead to secure our future and most important, generate a monthly income.

Prudent fiscal planning and discipline is very important in retirement.

Your family may stay together for cost optimization and avoiding duplication of expenses.

The other property may be sold, after releasing encumbrances, if any.

You may buy immediate annuity from a life insurance company from the proceeds of property sale to get monthly income as per the annuity rate offered by the insurance company.

Later you may sell inherited property to boost your annuity income.

Annual salary of 36 lacs and icome of 6 lacs from invest in thers business I have a daughter 11 yrs old . My expenses are 9 lacs annually. How do i go about to create a corpus fo 15 crore . I intend to retire at 54 yrs

Ans: Hello;

You may begin a monthly sip of 2.5 L into a combination of pure equity mutual funds and top it up each year by minimum 22% to achieve 15 Cr target in 10 years, including PPF value of 1.38 Cr after 10 years.

It top up is not possible then the flat monthly sip of 2.5 L will have to continue for 15 years (delaying retirement) to reach the intended corpus of 15 Cr, including PPF value of 1.93 Cr, after 15 years.

The value of your business is not factored into this working.

The current monthly expenses of 75 K will be 1.34 L after 10 years and 1.8 L after 15 years considering inflation of 6%.

But your target corpus is more then enough to generate monthly income (Annuity & SWP Mix)much more than your monthly expenses after 10 or 15 years.
