Good evening. I highly value your advice. My daughter is likely to secure admission in Computer Science Engineering at both UVCE and BMS Bangalore through KCET 2024. She plans to pursue further studies after her B.Tech. Which institution would you recommend? Thanking you regards Prabhat

Ans: Prabhat Sir, Prefer BMSCE over UVCE. Regarding her further studies, some suggestions (1) She can work 2-years and do her Masters as some QS-World Ranked Universities abroad prefer Candidates with Work Experience post-Graduation. (2) Or she can pursue Masters immediately after Graduation. No Issue. But, to target Reputed / QS Ranked World Universities, next for 4-years she should be academically good, involve in co-curricular / extra-curricular activities, upgrade her skills with Certifications & develop her soft skills etc. which will (have to be) reflect(ed) in her SOP (Statement of Purpose) apart from her Career Goals & also in LOR (Letter of Recommendation) provided by her College Faculties. Sir,we are from Bangalore. My daughter has secured Btech in CSE (4yrs) at IIIT Gwalior after meticulous voice filling bases various parameters. Getting CS(Data Sc/AI/cyber) or Info Sc and Eng(ISE) from RVCE Bangalore through Karnataka CET but not getting CSE core branch in RVCE. Colleges other the RVCE in Bangalore are not preferred by us. She is willing to travel out of state also to get better academic program. Given this context, which college should we prefer just based on the merits of college and branches mentioned above. And please mention, the reasons behind your advise. Thanks for your support. Regards

BStat at ISI Kolkata is better for core statistics, research, and data science roles. DSAI at IIT Guwahati is better for tech-oriented AI/ML careers. Choose ISI for theory/research, IITG for engineering + applied AI. The final decision will be yours.

Is there any difference between fee waivers ai NIT and scholarship? Can I avail fee waiver(income less than 3 lakh pa) and Bihar student credit card loan for the rest of expenses like mess and hostel etc?

Yes, fee waivers and scholarships are different. The fee waiver covers tuition fees at NITs, while scholarships may cover other expenses. Yes, you can also avail the Bihar Student Credit Card loan for remaining costs like hostel, mess, books, etc. (Check the current criteria please)

I want to crack it in..1st attempt with good rank and aiims delhi....my basic are clear and i am also aligned with the syllabus of neet...please give a road map..how to prepare..what to avoid..how many hrs to study...i have joined online coaching of pw dropper batch

Ans: Hello dear.
To crack NEET 2026 in ten months as a first dropper, follow a structured daily routine of 10–11 hours, combining your PW dropper batch schedule with focused self-study. From July to September, complete the full syllabus once using NCERT (especially for Biology and Chemistry), PW modules, and previous year questions. From October to December, begin your second revision and start taking 2 full-length mock tests per week, analyzing each one to improve accuracy. January to March should focus on intensive practice, high-weightage topics, and increasing mock tests to 3 per week. In April, do final revisions, take daily mocks under exam-like conditions, and stay mentally calm. Use limited but effective resources: NCERT, PW materials, N Awasthi (Physical), MS Chauhan (Organic), and DC Pandey (Physics). Avoid distractions, overusing books, and comparing yourself to others. Consistency, discipline, and smart revision will make AIIMS Delhi achievable. And at last, believe in yourself and keep aiming for scoring minimum of 600 plus for sure shot admission.

I am getting ECE at DTU, but I'm feeling disappointed because I couldn't get into an IIT. While preparing for IIT, I didn't explore other options much, so now I'm confused whether DTU is a good cholce or not. Can someone please guide me on how DTU compares to NITs in terms of placements and startup opportunities? I'm quite interested in startups and want to explore that fleld seriously.

My son has scored 129 out of 240 and ranked 5499 in the general category. Is there any chance of him to get into any IISER across India?

Ans: With a general category rank of 5 499 in IAT 2025, your son falls outside the closing rank ranges (Pune 717, Kolkata 1 801, Mohali 2,229, Bhopal 2,609, Thiruvananthapuram 2 965, Tirupati 3 470, Berhampur 3 576), making admission unlikely at any IISER despite strong infrastructure, research orientation, faculty credentials, interdisciplinary curricula and placement cells.
