My son entering into 3rd semester Bio informatics . What is the scope of bioinformatics india

Ans: I have often answered this question. IT and Bio Sciences together have played a significant role in changing our lives. I see more reliance on Bio Sciences in the years to come. Let your son talk to his college placement office and get inputs on the kind of companies that come to hire their students, the kind of job opportunities available. The scope in this field is equally dependent on students who are serious, committed and passionate about learning, researching and gaining internship experience. My one line advice would be become an all rounder, excel in studies, sports, research, extracurricular activities. just ensure you put in your best and emerge as an outstanding students.

My son didn't get seat in fishery science. So he now decided to join B.Sc Bioinformatics. Is it a good decision or not. In india bioinformatics have scope or not. I'm little bit confused in his decision.
Ans: B.Sc. Bioinformatics represents a forward?looking choice, as the Indian bioinformatics market reached USD 486.5 million in 2024 and is forecast to expand at an 18.62% CAGR through 2033, driven by high-throughput genomics, drug discovery, and personalized medicine initiatives. Programs are offered by UGC-approved, AICTE-recognized institutions under NAAC accreditation, ensuring that degrees meet national quality standards and are valued by employers. Departments are typically led by Ph.D.-qualified faculty collaborating on interdisciplinary research, supported by advanced infrastructure such as high-performance computing clusters, government-funded grid networks, and specialized wet-lab facilities for molecular and structural analyses. Placement performance for top B.Sc. Bioinformatics cohorts averages 60–80% over the past three years, with graduates recruited by leading biotechnology firms, research institutes, hospitals, and agricultural companies for roles including computational biologist, data analyst, and bioinformatics scientist. Comprehensive student support through career-development cells, technical and coding clubs, industry internships, and mentorship programs bridges academic learning with real-world applications and fosters professional readiness. As an interdisciplinary field combining biology, computer science, mathematics, and statistics, bioinformatics equips graduates with versatile skills that are increasingly sought across healthcare, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and environmental sectors, reflecting strong long-term stability and growth prospects in India.

Recommendation: Considering India’s robust bioinformatics industry growth, accredited curricula, expert faculty, modern computational labs, healthy placement records, and active career support, pursuing B.Sc. Bioinformatics will equip your son with in-demand interdisciplinary skills for roles in genomics, drug discovery, and data-driven life sciences, ensuring long-term employability and research potential. All the BEST for a Prosperous Future!

NEET, Medical, Pharmacy Careers - Answered on Aug 08, 2025

Not much at present ..hence asking ..what is the scope of btech bioinformatics
Ans: Hi Sir,

I hope this message finds you well. I would like to share some thoughts on how to select a career program that can sustain us throughout our lives, even after retirement. It is essential to choose a program that will serve us effectively rather than settling for a course that might be a waste of time and resources.

It's important to distinguish between fashion and passion, as well as between passion and practical realities. We should be cautious about selecting a program simply because it is available online; such options may not be suitable for long-term career development. In this context, I believe that Bioinformatics is not a viable choice. Moreover, this course can be pursued at any time virtually.
When considering a career in Bioinformatics, it's crucial to ensure that it aligns with the current job market demands. After completing the course, one should pursue a career related to their core subjects rather than choosing any available option. Bioinformatics itself is further divided into various categories, such as Health Informatics and Nursing Informatics. The term 'informatics' pertains to the management and processing of information. However, be wary of courses that seem to be accessible to everyone; if everyone can pursue a course, it may lead to high competition and diminished job prospects.

Given that your daughter has completed PCMB (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology), she may consider pursuing a career in either engineering or the health field, such as medicine, BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery), nursing, or pharmacy. In the medical field, there are two main pathways: Indian medicine and MBBS.
The Institutions offering bioinformatics programs often make enticing promises to attract students, but many tend to shift the blame onto students upon course completion.

Therefore, I recommend that let her focus on either the engineering field or the health field. Once she chooses a path, she needs to acquire the knowledge and skills specific to that field. Motivate her to concentrate on building her career rather than merely seeking a job.

If you need any further details, please feel free to reach out.

Best regards,

Tech Careers and Skill Development Expert - Answered on Dec 05, 2025

Career
Dear Sir, I did my BTech from a normal engineering college not very famous. The teaching was not great and hence i did not study well. I tried my best to learn coding including all the technologies like html, css, javascript, react js,dba, php because i wanted to be a web developer But nothing seem to enter my head except html and css. I don't understand a language which has more complexities. Is it because of my lack of experience or not devoting enough time. I am not sure. I did many courses online and tried to do diplomas also abroad which i passed somehow. I recently joined android development course because i like apps but the teaching was so fast that i could not memorize anything. There was no time to even take notes down. During the course i did assignments and understood the code because i have to pass but after the course is over i tend to forget everything. I attempted a lot of interviews. Some of them i even got but could not perform well so they let me go. Now due to the AI booming and job markets in a bad shape i am re-thinking whether to keep studying or whether its just time waste. Since 3 years i am doing labour type of jobs which does not yield anything to me for survival and to pay my expenses. I have the quest to learn everything but as soon as i sit in front of the computer i listen to music or read something else. What should i do to stay more focused? What should i do to make myself believe confident. Is there still scope of IT in todays world? Kindly advise.
Ans: Your story does not show failure.
It shows persistence, effort, and desire to improve.

Most people give up.
You didn’t.
That means you will succeed — but with the right method, not the old one.

Dating, Relationships Expert - Answered on Dec 04, 2025

Relationship
My married ex still texts me for comfort. Because of him, I am unable to move on. He makes me feel guilty by saying he got married out of family pressure. His dad is a cardiac patient and mom is being treated for cancer. He comforts me by saying he will get separated soon and we will get married because he only loves me. We have been in a relationship for 14 years and despite everything we tried, his parents refused to accept me, so he chose to get married to someone who understands our situation. I don't know when he will separate from his wife. She knows about us too but she comes from a traditional family. She also confirmed there is no physical intimacy between them. I trust him, but is it worth losing my youth for him? Honestly, I am worried and very confused.
Ans: Dear Anonymous,
I understand how difficult it is to let go of a relationship you have built from scratch, but is it really how you want to continue? It really seems to be going nowhere. His parents are already in bad health and he married someone else for their happiness. Does it seem like he will be able to leave her? So many people’s happiness and lives depend on this one decision. I think it’s about time you and your BF have a clear conversation about the same. If he can’t give a proper timeline, please try to understand his situation. But also make sure he understands yours and maybe rethink this equation. It really isn’t healthy. You deserve a love you can have wholly, and not just in pieces, and in the shadows.

Hope this helps
