Hi - My daughter has just entered Class 12 - Non Medical Stream. For girls mainly IT/Comp Science and Architecture are few options or pursue MBA post graduation. She is above average student show scored 96% in Class X but quite less in Class XI. She has joined some Private Coaching for JEE. What are other career options for her? I am also thinking about Australia as I have support system over there. Frankly - Students cannot actually decide their interest areas at age of 17/18. Please help with your advice.

In +2 you can switch to the state board, whereas in you can keep bio & math both. Let her complete 10th we will discuss again about this.

Hello sir, my daughter is studying in 9th standard. She is topper in her class. But she just likes to study. She is not much interested in sports or any other activity. She doesn't have stage fear. She is very interested in technical things. Which course/career option will be the best for her?

Ans: You have NOT mentioned your daughter is studying in which Board (State/CBSE/ICSE/IB/IGCSE) and how much percentage of marks she has been getting. And what about her performance among all 9th students in School?

It is highly advisable to be involved in physical activities at least for 45-minutes daily for her physical health.

Engineering / Design/Research career options will be suitable for her.

She should start preparing for Entrance Exams (either with self-study or by joining any online/offline coaching class). As she is now in 9th standard this year, she should preferably start preparing for targeted entrance exams to get admission into any one of the reputed colleges. Hello Sir, my daughter is studying 10th Std CBSE in Chennai. She is good in studies and socializing with people. She does not like History subject and comparatively weak in maths (scores between 80 to 90%). She keeps changing the long-term goals from English Teacher to Interior Design to Phycology to Engineer. She is unable to decide. Kindly suggest how to choose future career path. Thank you.

Ans: Bala Sir,

(1) Now itself, please go for a 'Psychometric Test' for her, which will recommend the top 5 streams suitable for her, based on her Aptitude, Attitude, Interest, Pesonality & Orientation Style.
(2) It is also advisable to prepare for Entrance Exams, based on Psychometric Test Result, from 10th itself if possible. If not, definitely from 11th.
(3) If she is weak in Maths, she should definitely attempt CUET exam to get admission into any one of the Central or State Universities for 3-Year Degree programs, based on Psychometric Test Recommendations.
(4) Due to peer influence, most students get confused about which career path to choose.
(5) As such, Psychometric Test will be the only solution.

I GOT A RENEWAL ON DEC/24 AND NCB 50% WAS ADDED WITH MY BASE INSURANCE. NOW I WANTED TO TAKE A SUPER TOP-UP OF NIVA BUPA HEALTH RECHARGE OF 90 LAKH . IS IT GOOD FOR MY FAMILY ? PL ADVISE ME .

Anything and everything connected with the market will get affected by market volatility. (ULIPs & ELSS too)

However for investors it is like a grand new year sale.

Continue your regular investments and also do lumpsum, if possible, at every sharp decline.

Only those whose target horizon is near should withdraw their gains from equity funds. They can begin fresh investments for some other financial goal.

Tks a lot for the clear answers to my queries regarding transmission of shares. However, I would like some more clarification on custodial account for shares entitled to C. Custodial account for C will mean a brokerage account in name of C under guardianship of B or an account in name of B but under some category called as Custodial accounts? Alternatively, can the shares entitled for C be sold by B as C's legal guardian and then the sale proceeds be brought in India directly in a bank account in name of C under B's guardianship? Thanks in advance for the support.

Ans: A custodial account for shares typically means a brokerage account held in the name of the minor (C) but managed by the guardian (B). This allows the guardian to oversee the account and make investment decisions on behalf of the minor.
Alternatively, the shares entitled to C can indeed be sold by B as C's legal guardian. The proceeds from the sale can then be brought into India and deposited into a bank account in C's name, under B's guardianship. However, it's important to ensure that all legal requirements and permissions are met, especially if the shares are part of a larger estate or property.

I am in the process of buying raw materials from different states for my manufacturing unit. How does the GST structure affect inter-state purchases, and how can I reclaim the input tax credit (ITC) on these transactions?

Ans: 01. All purchases, may be from different states, should have your GST number on it, so that your GST paid is reflected in GSTR-2B.
02. While filing your GST Returns, you can off set your GST liability with the ITC, as reflected in GSTR-2B.

Sir, I purchased a flat in 1999 for 3 Lakhs, now in 2025 I am going to sell it for 35 Lakhs. Will there be any Capital Gain Tax on it?

Ans: 01. Yes. This transaction would be subject to Capital Gain Tax.
02. Under present provisions of Income Tax Act, you may opt any of the options (in case of Long Term Capital Gains), as under :
(a). Tax Rate 12.50% without indexation or
(b). Tax Rate of 20% with Indexation.
03. You may calculate your tax liability under both options & may opt for the tax regime, where tax liability is minimum.

If money is transferred to his mother (non earning Sr Ctz housewife) from Son's account, would the interest income on FD or SCSS investment made by his mother in her name be clubbed with husband's (retired Sr Ctz) income ?

Ans: No. Such income cannot be clubbed with the income of her husband, since the amount was not transferred by her husband to her account.
