Sir, my son is in intergrated college where they teach two days practicals , English andCS, and three days JEE . He come home every day at 3. He is in 11std PCM. He has lots of pending sums in PCM, please guide him to make the timetable
Ans: Uzma Madam,

Almost all students feel the pressure once they enter into 11th and preparing for JEE by joining a Coaching Center (be it Integrated / Weekday / Weekend Classes). Nothing to worry about it.

5-things you have NOT mentioned i.e.

(1) The BOARD (State / CBSE he is into)?
(2) The PENDING sums / questions / problems to solve, he has in PCM, in his School Worksheets or Coaching Center's Materials/Worksheets or BOTH?
(3) Which COACHING CENTER has the tie-up with his school for the Integrated Class?
(4) At what time in the MORNING he leaves home for School? &
(5) On SATURDAY, he has full day class or half day or holiday?

Anyway, please note the following Strategies / Tips / Time Table:

Please first READ the following 7-Points & DON'T scroll down to read only the Time Table.

1) First of all, PEACEFUL atmosphere at home plays an important role for any Student to focus on Studies when the student is at home & while studying. Some of the disturbances might include TV, Noise, Verbal Arguments among family members etc. (this is a general suggestion for all JEE-Aspirants / their Family Members. Some or all might or might not be applicable to you).

2) When he studies or solve any problems / questions at home, should do for 45-MINUTES and definitely take a BREAK of minimum 10-Minutes (by walking/ relaxing / drinking water etc) But not to use Mobile too much during this break-time.

This will help your son to start with maximum level of concentration power and fully focus on his studies every 45-minutes. If continued beyond 45-minutes, his concentration power will keep going down which will result in low output and also PENDING SUMS which you have referred.

3) Among PCM which is your Son's most FAVOURITE subject & which is his most DIFFICULT subject? It is suggested to study difficult subject early morning and / or whenever he feels more than 85% fresh / relaxed. Please note, JEE Rank is allotted on the basis of highest marks in Maths first, followed by Physics & Chemistry.

4) Minimum 7-hours SLEEP is advisable to maintain his concentration power daily at School & also at Home when studying. If sleep is less than 7-hours, can't concentrate / focus on Studies.

5) Daily at least 30-Minutes of Physical Activity / Yoga / Meditation / Playing any Game is advisable to get relief from his Academic Pressure.

6) Neither he should be forced to rigorously study all the time nor he should take abnormal pressure that he should definitely get admission into any one of the IITs / NITs. Have Plan B & Plan C, by applying to minimum 5-Entrance Exams (apart from JEE) to have multiple options.

7) To focus on studies, he should be physically and mentally healthy. To the extent possible, provide healthy foods and avoid junk / too much oily foods (once in a while ok, but not frequently). Having a lot green vegetables / fruits will help him a lot.

NOW Coming to Time Table:

3:00 PM: He Reaches Home
3:00-4:00 PM: To have some LIGHT food / Relax
4:00-4:45 PM: To go through what has been taught same day or pending till date (starting with most difficult subject & note down the doubts to get Clarified either from his school friends or school teachers / coaching center faculties).
5:00-5:45 PM: To continue the same.
5:45-6.30 PM: To involve in any physical activity (mentioned above) he is comfortable with.
6:40-7:20 PM: To continue studying his next difficult subject.
7:20:7:30 PM: It is advisable to have Dinner at this time (or) maximum by 8:20 PM.
7:35-8:20 PM: To solve problems / questions which should be submitted next day
8:30-9:15 PM: To Continue the same.
9:30-10:00 PM: MOST IMPORTANT: To Revise what has been taught / studied during the Day.

10:10 PM to 5:15 AM - TO SLEEP

5:30 AM Till He Gets Ready for School: He can study his Difficult Subject / Topic / Solve Difficult Problems.

For SATURDAY / SUNDAY, you / your Son can easily prepare Time Table, based on the above Schedule & depending upon the time availability.

I hope I have provided the right solution for your Son, Madam. If you need any further clarifications, please follow me up with the same.

All the BEST for Your Son's Bright Future, Madam.

Hello sir .. which college is best between KJ SOMAIYA Vidhya vihar and NMIMS main campus for Engineering in Btech in CSE.plz advice us.
Ans: KJ Somaiya Vidyavihar (KJSCE) and NMIMS Mumbai Main Campus both offer strong BTech CSE programs with robust placement support, industry connections, and modern infrastructure. KJSCE is NBA-accredited, has academic autonomy, and consistently achieves 95–100% placement rates, with a median package of ?7.6–8 lakh and top recruiters like Amazon, Microsoft, Infosys, and Deloitte. The curriculum is industry-oriented, and the faculty is highly rated by students for teaching quality and mentorship. NMIMS Mumbai’s BTech CSE is NAAC ‘A’ grade accredited, offers specializations in AI, Data Science, and Cybersecurity, and provides excellent industry exposure through internships and projects, with a high placement rate and top recruiters such as Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and TCS. NMIMS emphasizes practical and interdisciplinary learning, but its program is newer than KJSCE’s and has a higher fee structure. Student reviews rate both colleges similarly for placements, faculty, and campus life, but KJSCE has a longer legacy and slightly better return on investment. The recommendation is to prefer KJ Somaiya Vidyavihar (KJSCE) for BTech CSE due to its established academic reputation, consistently high placement rates, experienced faculty, and value for money, unless you have a strong preference for NMIMS’s specialized curriculum or brand. All the BEST for the Admission & a Prosperous Future!

I got admitted to 1st PUC under PCMB but I feel the subjects are tough and I dont like calculations in physics. Planning to shift to commerce but worried if BCom will pay good. Is it a good idea to chooae commerce and then later pursue BCA or LLB. What do you suggest. I want to pursue something that pays well.
Ans: Switching from PCMB to commerce is a practical option if you find physics calculations challenging and lack interest in science, as commerce offers a wide array of career paths with good earning potential. BCom opens doors to fields like finance, accounting, management, banking, and government jobs, with entry-level salaries ranging from ?3–6 lakh and much higher with professional qualifications (CA, CMA, CS, MBA, CFA) or government exams. BCom graduates can also pursue LLB, which leads to roles such as corporate lawyer, legal manager, or advisor, with average salaries of ?4–8 lakh and scope in both private and public sectors. If you are interested in technology, BCA is accessible after commerce and offers strong IT placements, with roles in software development, data analysis, and web design, and average starting salaries of ?3–6 lakh, rising with experience or after MCA. Commerce is generally considered less difficult than science, with moderate math, and is suitable for those interested in business, finance, or law.

The recommendation is to shift to commerce if science subjects do not interest you, as BCom, BCA, or LLB all offer good earning potential and diverse career options, especially when combined with further specialization or professional courses. Choose based on your interests—finance, tech, or law—for long-term satisfaction and success. All the BEST for the Admission & a Prosperous Future!
