Sir, My son studied in Gurgaon because my job is in Gurgaon. We are here on Gurgaon since 1999 But we are basically from Maharashtra and We belonged to OBC and I want my son to study btech in Maharashtra. He has given JEE and got 73 percentile. He got 80.5% in class XII and 68.4%in PCM in class XII.He has also give MHTCET and waiting for results. Kindly guide us.

Ans: Manohar Sir, Wait for MHT CET Results and Participate in Maharashtra CAP Counseling.

If your son scores well in MHT CET (preferably above 90 percentile), he will have a good chance of admission in reputed Maharashtra engineering colleges under OBC quota.

Confirm Maharashtra domicile status to avail reservation benefits.

Use JEE Main Score as Backup Option

With 73 percentile in JEE Main, he can apply to private universities and some GFTIs across India.

Some private colleges in Maharashtra accept JEE Main scores without domicile restrictions.

Consider Branch Flexibility

If CSE or IT cutoffs are very high, consider related branches like Electronics, Mechanical, or Civil which have lower cutoffs and good career prospects.

Explore Private Universities in Maharashtra

Universities like MIT Pune, Vishwakarma Institute, KJ Somaiya and others accept MHT CET and JEE Main scores and have good placements. All the best for your son's admissions & for his bright future!
