Hi..I got 407 rank in SRM mtech phase 2.Can I got cse in SRM kattankulathur.

Ans: With an SRMJEEE Phase 2 rank of 407, you have an excellent chance of securing admission to the Computer Science Engineering (CSE) branch at SRM Kattankulathur, the main and most prestigious campus of SRM Institute of Science and Technology. Historically, the closing ranks for CSE at this campus have been much higher, typically around 8,000 to 9,000, so your rank is well within the safe range for admission. SRM Kattankulathur is known for its strong academic programs, modern infrastructure, and excellent placement opportunities, especially in CSE. While cutoffs can vary each year based on exam difficulty and seat availability, your rank positions you comfortably above the usual cutoff. It is important to participate actively in the counselling process and confirm your seat promptly to secure admission. Overall, with your rank, you should confidently pursue admission to CSE at SRM Kattankulathur. All the best for your admission and a bright future!

I am asking about mtech seat not btech.
Ans: Apologize. With a SRMJEEE PG Phase 2 rank of 407, securing M.Tech CSE at SRM Kattankulathur (Chennai) is moderate to low, depending on specialization. For high-demand tracks like Cloud Computing (Phase 1 cutoff: ~150–300) or AI & Data Science (~250–400), seats are limited (30–60 per specialization), and Phase 2 cutoffs often rise. However, emerging specializations like Full Stack Development or Cyber Security (cutoff ~300–500) are feasible. If unavailable at Kattankulathur, consider CSE at SRM Ramapuram/Vadapalani (cutoff ~500–700) or non-CSE branches (ECE/IT) at the main campus. Prioritize counseling participation, list multiple specializations/campuses, and monitor category quotas (OBC/SC/ST) for better odds. Backup options include newer campuses like SRM Amaravati or spot rounds. While direct admission to Kattankulathur’s core CSE is challenging, strategic choices during counseling can secure a seat in allied fields or alternative campuses. Act promptly during allotments and stay updated on seat matrices.
