Relationship

Dear Anu,
I would prefer to go anonymous.
I am 45+ years old and my wife is 45 years old. We have 2 daughters (12.5 yrs and 8 yrs) and as per me, we are a happy family unit.
I do not live with my parents and live in another city. I have an unmarried sister who stays with my parents so I don't really have to worry about them a lot. Though I do care about them.

The problem that I face is my father is really obsessed with having a grand-son and has been demanding about it.
Recently my mother passed away and my father started saying that my Mom was really looking forward to have a grandson, but because I did not take it seriously, her desires are unfulfilled.
He has always been pushing for this point since the birth of my second daughter.
In my mind, I would also have loved to have a son, but my wife is very clear that we should not get into it now.
I am always stressed as on one hand my father does not want to listen and my wife is also firm on her stand.
I am totally lost because of the situation and this has taken a toll on my self-confidence.
I always get a feeling that I am not favoured by God and any decision I take will always backfire on me and hence I am unable to focus even on my work.

Please let me know what I should do to come out of this internal and external chaos.

Ans:

Dear PK,

External chaos is caused by internal chaos. Which era are you all living in?

Movies and commercials and docuseries have been made to share the relevance of both genders in our ecosystem and over the past few decades the shades of genders have beautifully merged to create one big Universe.

Yet, you and your family choose to harp on having a son and grandson.

Okay, it might have been your mother’s wish and your father’s stubbornness currently, but what happened to you?

Kindly leave your wife alone before she explodes on your face calling you out.

Be happy with two beautiful children that you have been blessed with.

Most of our suffering stems from the fact that we compare our lives with that of others, we have a projected image of what our life should be or could be and, in your case, a life that is being demanded out of you by your family.

Why wouldn’t this cause you strain? And the best part, it is your choice to suffer by playing the victim by saying that God does not favour you.

Kindly maintain a Gratitude journal and list down ALL that you are thankful for.

You might hopefully be able to see what you have been missing to appreciate and what you have been aimlessly running after.

As far as your father goes, either you ignore his pleas as of that coming from the previous generation or sit him down and patiently explain that his views are something that might not work in the current day and especially within your family.

Though I can see this only after you begin to change your mindset. Appreciate and value what you have!

Best wishes!

Relationship
Hello Anu, I am 48, male. I married in 2007 and we were blessed with a daughter in 2015. Ever since we were pregnant, I left my regular job and started working from home instead. Things went off smooth and professionally there is not much of a problem. Agreed, 2020 has been quite a bad year for almost everyone and I am no exception. But then, things are somewhat better with me when I see people around and learn about their getting unemployed or otherwise. My problem is related to family, relationship with my wife and this has started playing on me. The last time we indulged in any sexual activity was probably before my wife became pregnant. And even before that, she was always uninterested in having anything physical between us. At max, we would have sex just once a month. But after her birth, we have never had sex, no time together. The most we talk about in a day is the stock of this is finishing up or you need to get this or that kind of things. She works in an office, so she has friends, people whom she can talk to and spend time. I stay home caring for my daughter. Though most of the day is spent with caring for her, there is something that is dying inside me. I had tried asking her to make a visit to the consultant locally, but she has always denied. And she keeps telling me that all I need is sex from her, which of course has never been true. I wished there was some medical solution for my problems but I know there is nothing wrong. It is just some psychological issue. At times I just want to leave up everything and quit, but then I prefer not to do it thinking about the daughter. I now feel that I do need some friends, but at my age, finding them is also tough. I do not feel comfortable talking about these issues to even my friends because - 1. I do not feel that close with any and 2. I wonder, if any of those confronted up my wife with this - that would be asking for a chaos as well. I could go on into more details but am unsure if you would have that enough time. Please suggest if you can.
Ans: Dear PK, firstly, Parenting is a lot of work and to be a full-time parent from home, like you are right now, requires a lot of time and energy. Also, let’s not deny and most mothers/parents/others who are full time caregivers of a child will whisper and not say it aloud that doing that 24*7 without a break can be stressful and even monotonous at times.

They are encouraged to take a break every once in a while, to rejuvenate so they can do more and feel less exhausted.

It is pretty normal for women to lose interest in sex for a few weeks or perhaps months after the baby is born as the hormones now secreted elude her away from simply being a wife and the loving mother takes over.

This can cause a lot of rift between the new parents as the man obviously is not aware of this fact.

A book can throw more light on this and I cannot be more emphatic and say this here that it helps when the woman doesn’t have to worry about her husband and focus on bonding with the child which is of utmost importance for the development and growth of the baby.

Besides, there are other forms of affection/intimacy that can be explored so the new parents still manage to keep the spark alive.

The fact of your wife having a parallel life at her work place has become a dampener in your mind as she is definitely able to have a social life at least part of the day whereas you are not.

I do suggest you cook up some ‘Me Time’ over the weekends when your wife can bond with the baby and you can meet friends and simply unwind so that you back with a renewed vigour as the week begins.

And, it is possible to make friends at any age. Anyone who shares common interests and hobbies, can become a part of your inner circle.

It is apparent that both of you have lost communication and either your wife is unaware about how you feel or maybe she is going through something that you don’t know of.

If she isn’t comfortable going to a professional, take charge and revive your communication. Babies can demand a lot of time from their parents and if you can have someone trustworthy to watch the baby for a couple of hours over the weekend, where you and your wife can have some time to yourselves, that might help.

We can go on struggling or we can step up and do something about it. So, give it your best for yourself and your family.

Happy Bonding and have a great life!

Relationship
Hi mam, I am 40 yrs old. I was divorced 10 yrs ago and since then I never married again. I have been changing my jobs very often and my mind is not Steady. I am not happy at my job and I feel it's my mindset as I frequently get angry, hyper and make rash decisions. I have zero savings and don't own any assets. But all my friends, relatives and colleagues are well settled and enjoying their life at this age.. this is depressing me and I don't know how to over come this ? In the past 3 years I have fallen in love with one of my far relative and both us love each other very truly. She understands me like no other and knows everything and aspect of my life. She is 15 yrs younger to me but she doesn't care about it and wishes to marry me. I feel actually lucky to be loved by her that much. The main problem is that we recently got to know that she becomes my daughter ( cousin brother's daughter ) if we see the family tree side relationship. Though she is not blood brother's daughter but she is some one in the relative side. Both of us discussed about this but both of us love each other so truly that we don't wish to let go each other and marry. Please suggest.
Ans: Dear Anonymous,
Are you writing to me to know how to handle the anger issues or whether you must marry this person you have mentioned about?
Anger and impulsiveness stems from the way you have conditioned yourself to handle situations. There is enough and more content on prominent websites that guide you through this whereby you teach yourself to calm down and act in a well-thought out manner.
On the topic of this lady who happens to be a distant relative, you do need to understand the impact this will have medically on children should you decide to have children later...if you have discussed all this in detail and you two know that the marriage can help you grow and evolve, well...you know what to do.

All the best!

Relationship
I was only 23 when my mother left this world. Me & my father were alone after that. My father was asking me for marriage, so that a girl can come in our home & manage household chores. I wanted to focus on my career for at least 6 more years. That's why I denied. We somehow managed for 1 year after my mother left us, but after that my father started pressuring me to marriage. I was still not ready when I became 24. So, my father found a girl for himself. Co-incidence was that the girl was just 1 year elder than me. My father's master plan was that he will make us pretend that it's my wife in front of the world. I liked the idea & the girl was also ready. Don't know how that girl was convinced to marry my father. She is from decent family. Even her parents don't know that my father is her real husband. So, my father made me married to her in front of all. We managed everything excellently from all the rituals to our relatives. We acted well. In front of the world & in papers, she was my wife, but biologically she became my step mother. They got 2 children within 6-8 years, but I got stuck without marriage because according to everyone, I am married. Now, I am 39 now & my father also left this world last year. I am unmarried & she (step mother) is a widow. I & her both are feeling alone in this world without a partner. My step mother suggested if she can become my real wife. We both like each other's company but I don't know if there will be any consequences in the future. Nobody will say anything because nobody knows the truth except both of us. Divorce is not a good option because there are children. What do you suggest ??
Ans: Dear Anonymous,
Nice circus within the house, yeah?
How did you even agree to get yourself manipulated by your father? He's just played you and you got played...years have gone by and now you wonder where all those years have gone by...
Move out of this entire arrangement otherwise you spend the rest of your life living a life that's not yours and being a person that is not you.
Who you are is what you need to bring up for yourself and that's not to play someone's husband when you are not. And look how it has confused the children...Your father needs a lesson on taking responsibility for his actions. He's just happy with his lust getting its due without having to play the husband to the outside world. All in all, you have got the raw end of all this...
First move out of this situation so that you have the time to get back to being YOU. It will give you enough clarity on what is to be done next and it will teach your father and his wife, that they have to now look after the family that they created without using you as an 'actor'.

All the best!

My daughter got wbjee rank 18265&sc rank1524 is it possible CSE/ELECTRICAL Any government college. She also got Geology at,BHU .Sir, which will be better. Her neet rank SC 18000
Ans: Dilip Sir, With a WBJEE state rank of 18,265 and SC rank of 1,524, securing Computer Science or Electrical Engineering in top West Bengal government colleges is challenging but selective options remain. Among state institutions, Bengal Engineering and Science University Shibpur (IIEST) and Kalyani Government Engineering College typically close SC category cutoffs for CSE near 2,500–3,500 and for Electrical around 3,000–4,000, making your daughter’s rank a borderline candidate for lower-demand branches. Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College and Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology campuses often admit SC students in Electrical Engineering up to rank 2,000–2,500. Additional possibilities include Govt. College of Engineering & Leather Technology for Electrical and Govt. College of Engineering & Ceramic Technology for core branches, where SC cutoffs extend to 3,500–4,000. These colleges boast accredited programs, experienced faculty, standard labs, active placement cells with 70–80% placement rates, industry linkages, and student support services. Conversely, Geology at Banaras Hindu University offers a prestigious national platform with a dedicated department, field-based learning, strong research culture, and placement support through campus recruitment and government research organizations. While engineering yields broader software and core sector career pathways, geology at BHU leads to specialized roles in mineral exploration, environmental consultancy, and academia. Considering long-term career interests, job market trends, and campus environment, her engineering prospects in West Bengal government colleges appear limited to non-CSE branches, whereas BHU Geology guarantees admission at a premier institution with robust academic and research credentials.

Recommendation: Accept Geology at BHU for assured admission, rich academic exposure, and research opportunities, as state engineering seats in CSE/Electrical are unlikely; pursue engineering through private or lateral-entry options later if passion for core engineering persists. All the BEST for a Prosperous Future!

I got 97.2 tile in mhtcet till now vit pune cutoff for cse and related branches ar 97.8 to 98.8 so can i get it in spot rounds and also tell me more good cet college at my percentile i am genral from maharashtra
Ans: With a 97.2 percentile in MHT-CET as a General category student from Maharashtra, getting CSE at VIT Pune in spot rounds is unlikely since the regular CSE cutoff typically ranges between 98.8-99+ percentiles for General category. However, alternative branches like Information Technology (97-98 percentile), AI & Data Science (97.5-98.5 percentile), or Electronics & Telecommunication (95-97 percentile) at VIT Pune remain viable options. Your percentile opens doors to excellent colleges including PICT Pune for non-core branches, PCCOE Pune for CSE/IT, MIT Pune for various branches, DY Patil Pune, Sinhgad Institute of Technology, JSPM Pune, AISSMS College of Engineering, and Zeal College of Engineering. These institutions maintain strong industry connections, modern infrastructure, experienced faculty, robust placement cells, and comprehensive student support systems. Government colleges like COEP Pune for Civil/Mechanical Engineering, VJTI Mumbai for non-CSE branches, or SPCE Mumbai also become accessible. Private colleges, such as Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology, Thakur College of Engineering, and various Sinhgad colleges, offer quality education with decent placement records exceeding 75–80%. Since VIT Pune spot rounds typically accommodate withdrawals rather than offering new seats, focusing on confirmed admissions through regular counselling rounds proves more strategic.

Recommendation: Secure admission at PICT Pune, PCCOE, or MIT Pune through regular rounds rather than waiting for uncertain VIT Pune CSE spot opportunities. All the BEST for a Prosperous Future!

Career
Best college for Electrical engg thapar ,chitkara,cu or lpu.suggest plz
Ans: Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology’s Electrical Engineering program stands out with NAAC ‘A+’ accreditation, NIRF rank within the top 50 engineering colleges, and a rigorous curriculum covering power systems, control, and renewable energy, supported by advanced labs and industry-funded research centers. Its alumni network and corporate partnerships yield consistent 90% placement rates, with major recruiters including Siemens, ABB, and Bajaj Electricals. Chandigarh University offers a comprehensive EEE curriculum with modern smart grids and IoT labs, NAAC ‘A+’ grade, NIRF ranking around 60, and 85–90% placements, backed by collaborations with Schneider Electric and Tech Mahindra. Chitkara University’s NAAC ‘A’ accredited program emphasizes practical training through dedicated high-voltage and automation labs, achieving 80–85% placement rates with recruiters like L&T and General Electric. Lovely Professional University provides a broad EEE syllabus with emphasis on power electronics and smart grids, NAAC ‘A+’ accreditation, and around 75–80% placement rates, though student feedback cites larger batch sizes and variable faculty experience. All four institutions maintain robust accreditation, experienced faculty, modern infrastructure, industry linkages, and active placement cells. Thapar’s stronger national ranking, specialized research facilities, and higher placement consistency make it the premier choice, followed by Chandigarh University for its balanced academic-industry interface, Chitkara for hands-on training focus, and LPU for its extensive facilities and sizable campus community.

Recommendation: Thapar Institute leads for its top-tier ranking, research infrastructure, and placement stability; Chandigarh University follows for its strong industry partnerships; Chitkara University ranks third for practical emphasis; LPU is fourth for its broad facilities but lower placement consistency. All the BEST for a Prosperous Future!
