My mother has swelling on her feet and having asthma and BP problem. Doctor has asked to reduce fluid intake to 1 litre. X rays of Lung shows cough. She gets frequent breathing problem when she walks. She is 81 .ECG and Echocardiogaram was normal conducted 10 month back. Doctor has given her nebuliser 3 times a day ,Dytor,BP TAb since last 2 months but no improvement.Antibiotics dose has bee repeated twice.Any suggestion to improve the position. Unable to sleep at night .

Ans: It looks like your mother is going in for Cardiac compromise particularly left ventricular dysfunction
Please get a repeat echo done

Dear sir, My Mother aged around 73 years. she has undergone pacemaker implantation in 2016. few days back she was suffering from cold and cough. now she is alright. but from three month she is unable to walk paroperly. not standing stably. her both legs got swelling. and she is very weak. so, my request is she should be strong as before and able to walk independently. and should take food at least two times in a day. what is the medicine for this ailment. at present following medicine are taking daily. 1.Pentacid dsr - BF 2.Cardrome - 1 AF 3.Zyloric -1 AF 4.Torsinex - 1AF 5.Nebicard-T Night1 AF 6. Zolfresh- if required PLEase please give your best suggestion- Thank u

Ans: You mother has a complex medical history. She needs to be properly assessed by a physician. I don't think it is possible to address her problems without a proper history, physical examination and investigations. (e.g. CBC, Renal function, Liver function, Thyroid function, 2 D ECHO, X ray chest, )

Ans: ensure that BP is measured correctly and rule out white coat hypertension using ABPM. if BP is still high despite proper intake of medicines already taking, then medications need to be increased

Dr Saheb My Mother is 80, with grace of god her all organs are working satisfactory. Her kidneys are working satisfactory but displaced, this was noticed 25 years ago in scanning. From many years she had issue of loose motions, in a day generally she go three to four times. recently her BP is also increased and her upper reading ranges between 138 to 160 and lower one from 75 to 82. Ans: Hello. These symptoms suggest a mild heart failure. Her BP may not be in good control and is likely overloading the heart. She needs an evaluation for the same. In addition, she needs to follow strict salt and water restriction. All the best.
