Greetings Sir I am male 56, Diab under control. Take a combination medicine after BF which helps to get rid of excess sugar through urine. Dr asked me to drink plenty of water for the same I feel thirsty at night after dinner when I go to sleep I may get up once at midnight to take a leak is it fine sir? Do you need to drink less water despite feeling thirsty? is a complete urine test once in year OK? I like your answers which are helping hundreds of people

Ans: The medicines you are referring to are in group of Gliflozins (SGLT-2 inhibitors). These medicines are very effective and pass the sugar through urine. Anyone on these medicines should drink a lot of water. Yes, you can drink a lot of water in the night or any time.

Not the less water. If you are feeling thirsty, drink water. anytime.
Urine test once in a year is okay.
