I'm a 26 F and recently saw a spike in TSH (4.4) AND T3 T4 are normal. Consulted 2 docs and they said it is normal for girls to have this. I have been facing terrible hair loss since 9 months. Sudden weight spike even when I lift weights. Extremely painful period. Periods are coming every 3 weeks. Water retention etc. I have been put on thyronorm 25mg. My blood work shows high lymphocites as well. I am not sure what is causing that. I am scared. Can this be reversed naturally? I want to get off the medicine. Thank you. :)

Don’t think about it too much. The body changes every decade. Focus on the good stuff that happens to you or with you everyday. The hair, the skin, the body will follow suit. Continue your doctor’s prescription and you will be fine. Thyroid is an endocrinal dysfunctional, it is a condition in which the thyroid gland doesn't produce enough thyroid hormone.
Hypothyroidism's deficiency of thyroid hormones can disrupt such things as heart rate, body temperature and all aspects of metabolism. So work on the metabolism. You are young so have ample opportunities to keep it in balance.

I am 50yr male having hypothyroidism from last 7 years taking Thyonorm 75 mcg. BP 138/84, FBS 110 PP 165, Hb1ac 5.5, LFT, Urine tests are normal. Becoming lean day by day. Seing regular physician. Please suggest shall I meet any thyoride specialist.Ans: Ans: What is your recent TSH level. If the TSH level is within normal limits, your weight loss is unlikely to be due to the thyroid disease or medication. Sir, My T3, T4 & TSH are within normal limits. Having constipation, indigestion hyperacidity problems. Taking tablets for Vid D deficiency. Feeling tingling some time.

Ans: If your thyroid functions are normal, the weight loss is unlikely to be due to a thyroid problem. I think you need to undergo a proper check up to determine the cause of the weight loss (CBC, Liver function, Sr B12, Stool examination, Ultrasound) . May even need to undergo an Endoscopy

Dear Doctor, For my wife, I got the Thyroid Function Test for her and the report as on 15-12-2023 says - Triiodothyronine (T3) 1.05 ng/mL Thyroxine (T4) 10.60 μg/dL Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) 4.26 mlU/L Earlier report (approx. 6 months back) dated 29-06-2023 was as under – Triiodothyronine (T3) 0.98 ng/mL Thyroxine (T4) 6.90 μg/dL Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) 8.36 mlU/L It means TSH has reduced from 8.36 to 4.26 which is in normal range of 0.46-4.68. For Thyroid, she was taking Thyrox-25 Tablet on daily basis in the morning. Whether she should stop taking Thyrox-25 now as now it is in normal range? Kindly advise.

Ans: Please check the source of Iodine in your diet.Also with the start of treatment ,you need to have the values coming down and not going up.Hold back the Thyroxine ,repeat the tests after three months.

I have taken a policy from SBI Life insurance Retire Smart plan. The policy is for 10 years with a premium payment for 5 years. I have taken the policy in February 2020 and with this month 5 yearsare completed. Now, I want to come out of this. How can I come out with minimum loss.? Can I surrender or close?

Even if you surrender now you can get 60% of your fund value, after deducting charges, and for the balance 40% you have buy an annuity from SBI Life.

This is as per terms and conditions mentioned in the brochure of this plan.

With 97.7 %tile, under OBC-NCL, female category, she may get admission in one of the NITs but not surely in Trichy. You may have to compromise the NIT and branch.

For the All India Quota (AIQ) in NEET, only the central OBC-NCL list is considered. If your OBC-NCL certificate is from your state but your caste is not in the central OBC list, then it will not be valid for AIQ reservations. If your caste is in both the state and central OBC lists, apply for a central OBC-NCL certificate to use it for AIQ in NEET.
