I hope this message finds you well. I recently received my lipid profile results, and I wanted to seek your guidance on the next steps. Here are the details: TOTAL CHOLESTEROL Method: Enzymatic - Cholesterol Oxidase Result: 289 TRIGLYCERIDES Method: Colorimetric - Lip/Glycerol Kinase Result: 605.2 NON HDL CHOLESTEROL Method: Calculated Result: 223.7 LDL CHOLESTEROL Method: Calculated Result: 141.3 V.L.D.L CHOLESTEROL Method: Calculated Result: 137.02 I would appreciate it if you could suggest appropriate medication based on these results and provide insight into the reasons behind the recommendation. Additionally, I am curious to know whether I should be concerned about these results or if dietary adjustments alone could be beneficial. Thank you for your time and assistance. I look forward to your guidance. Best regards,

Ans: The lipid profile results are indicative of abnormal ranges. To lower these levels, you will need to consult your family physician for the need of medication. Dietary modifications are necessary by following a balanced diet with high fiber, low fat, moderate protein and low carbohydrate foods like whole grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts, egg whites, lean meat, etc. Opt for unsaturated fats, such as those found in olive oil, avocados, nuts, and seeds. Limit added sugars and refined carbs and stay active.
