Doctor my periods date was 16 jan and on 27th jan i have taken i pill for emergency contraception. And on 7th feb i have got bleeding with initially brown and with some pieces of blood and it was reddish on next day it lasted for almost 3 days and now after 16 feb im haven't get my periods, is it necessary to get a beta hcg test or consider it to be normal

Ans: Yes, taking the I-pill can cause delayed periods or irregular bleeding. Sometimes after taking I-pill spotting can occur within 7 days and cause irregular bleeding also. The I-pill is an emergency contraceptive pill that contains a high dose of hormones that can disrupt your menstrual cycle.
But it is advisable to do pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy by beta hcg blood test or kit test.
Or visit your nearby gynae to rule out other causes if delayed menses
