My brother is suffering from cerebellar ataxia and has difficulty with balance related activities like walking, writing and other common day to day tasks. Is there any hospital or medical procedure in india, that can help in improving his condition.

I have been diagnosed with "Cerebellar Atrophy" in 2018. As per the advice of the Doctors, I have been doing regular physical exercise (not strenuous) for about 45 minutes every day. Please mention if any treatment is available for this.

Ans: Cerebellar atrophy has been attributed to what cause?
Generally Cerebrovascular insufficiency is one of the cause which needs lifestyle modifications. Cerebellum helps in our posture maintanence
So along with regular physical exercise focus on exercices to support your balance and coordination. Consult your doctor for any lifestyle modification and good ergonomic practices

Dear Sir/Madam, I am 43 years of age and I was diagnosed with "Cerebellar Atrophy". Doctors say that there exists no medication for this disease. Please help me by suggesting proper course of action for recovery.

Ans: Mostly these are post viral and self limiting sequelae.
Check your balance, coordination and postural stability. Get a Physiotherapist to train you on these which could support you. Mindful movement through Yoga, Taichi are helpful

Ans: I am so sorry to hear about your condition. It is a painful condition and although ataxia is generally not completely curable but with Ayurveda a great deal can be done to ease the symptoms and improve the quality of life. Abhyanga and pancha karma treatments can surely help. Therapeutic yoga abhyas under a qualified teacher can also be of immense help. I strongly suggest meditation and contemplation. Please talk to a good Ayurvedic centre in Kerala and I am sure they will show you a way!
