Sir, I am 63 yrs. Last year I suffered from BP 170/110. I went to a Physician and as per his advice I am taking the tablets Nicardia 10mg 1 tablet alongwith Telista 20mg 1 tablet @ morning 9am and Nicardia 10mg 1 tablet at night 9pm. Now for the past three months my BP controlled 120/70 (OR) sometimes 110/70. Can I continue the same or to reduce the dose.

Ans: If the BP recorded multiple times is remaining a bit low, it maybe possible to reduce the dose. However, you should see the physician, have the BP checked in the clinic, and discuss the new dosages.

I am 41 , Height is 5.7, Weight is 82.5 i am having BP consistently showing 152/100 for last one year even though i don't have any other problem apart from BP , i am also taking BP Tablet Nicardia 10mg one time on night if i take one more dose i am getting headache Please suggest any medical advice to lower my BP.

Ans: BP target is < 130/80 for most patients, Nicardia is not the best first line antihypertensive medication. If you are getting side effects then reconfirm whether you have high BP with a test called ABPM. and if its high then consult a good cardiologist who should be prescribing you a good first line antihypertensive agent

I am 42 years male. During some small ailments Doctor checked my BP the upper side was almost 140 or 145 that days on digital bp cuff. When I visited to Doctor he advise me to use Telma 20 daily one Tablet. Than I started the same. After 2 to 3 months use I stopped the medicine. Now after 3 weeks after stop of medicine my bp is still on 130/90. As my age is now 42, may I continue the medicine or stopped?

Ans: BP medications should be judiciously used after good evaluation. Once started it should be followed up with Physician if there is a need to reduce the dosage

My age is 49, height 6.1'' and weight 84 kg. My BP show 132- 112. I take daily telmisartan -40 mg for last 2 years. what should l do control BP to normal. Family doctor suggested minimise the salt and take cilndidipine 10 mg daily. Kindly suggest

Ans: I am not clear what is 132-112 mean. Are these systolic BP readings or one is systolic (upper one) and other diastolic (lower BP). If 112 is systolic BP, then it is okay.
If diastolic, then you need to consult physician to modify the medicines.
You seems to be doing okay. However, I can provide better advice if I have a detailed blood and vitals report.

Sir my daughter scored 73.8 in 10+2 but maths percentile is very low @ 46. She wish to appear in BITSAT. Can she be eligible if she improves her score in improvement exam to be held in July by CBSE?

Ans: Eligibility for BITS Pilani Admission:
Minimum Requirement: Candidates should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (for engineering courses) and secured at least 75% aggregate marks in these three subjects or be among the top 20 percentile in their respective board exams.

BITS also requires minimum 60% marks in each of these subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics).
Yes! If she improves her aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics to 75% or above, she will meet the minimum eligibility criteria for BITSAT.
But my suggestion is to avoid engineering, because almost all streams in engineering require B.Sc. level math.
