My weight is 43 this is continuing for a long time now I am 27 years old but the weight is stable it neither increase nor decrease. I also tried protein supplements but that also doesn't work..... should I consult a doctor, if yes which doctor should I consult?

Ans: Using the BMI is considered a good measure of a person’s weight because it compares their weight to their height. If you are underweight, it will depend on whether you may have a genetic background or a medical illness that prevents you from putting on weight. You may have an ectomorph body type. There are interventions doctors can recommend to help a person gain weight. Dietary guidelines for weight gain include increasing the quantities of the food gradually , to eat more frequently, having more nutrient dense foods like inclusion of nuts, dry fruits, starchy vegetables like potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, etc. Add healthy unsaturated fats: olive/ coconut oil. Include protein sources in every meal like chicken/fish/egg whites or veg sources like low fat milk and its products, soya and pulses. Consult a registered dietician or nutrition consultant for dietary advise.

Ans: Dear Ashok, Yes, you can generate ?75,000/month from your ?83 lakh investment portfolio with an average return of around 10-12% per year. Consider using SWP from your equity funds and rebalancing the portfolio to incorporate some safer, income-generating investments like debt funds for stability. Causion is if the returns goes below 12% in any of the Quarters your capital may deplete. and then you might have to reduce withdrawal. Suggesion is that withdraw 6% return only or increase your investments to 1.5 CR sothat your withdrawals exceed your rise in MF amount and your Capital is always protected.

Dear sir, I have completed 8.7months and withdrawn the PF amount. But I have received the certificate from pension authority. Can I get the pension by submitting the certificate at EPFO office or I have to withdraw the money. What to do. Please guide

Ans: For eligibility under the Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS), the minimum service requirement is 10 years of service. Unfortunately, with 8 years and 7 months of service, you do not meet the minimum 10-year requirement to be eligible for a monthly pension.
if you have withdrawn the PF amount, check whether your previous employment details were also included, if yes, then you may be eligible for EPS as your services cross 10 years. in that case, you can submit the request for eps pension.

OCIs and POIs can invest in Indian mutual funds. However, only a few mutual funds are currently accepting investments from US and Canadian citizens. Below are the AMCs that currently accept L&T, UTI, PPFAS, Sundaram, and Canara Robeco. Other mutual fund houses are also slowly joining in. Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) are also eligible to invest in Indian SIP plans with life cover, just like Indian residents.

I superannuated from Corporate job at 58. For NPS, I could not give input for Continuation/ Deferment or withdrawal to NSDL within 1 month. So, I received mail that my account will be transferred to "All Citizen of India Sector" in 90 days. Questions: 1. How do I access the new location account? 2. Can I still apply and give Deferment option? 3. If not, can I withdraw from present account? 4. Will I start getting pension now?

Ans: Dear Friend, After superannuation at 58, your NPS account has been transferred to the "All Citizens of India" sector due to a lack of input for continuation or deferment within the stipulated 30 days. You can still access your account using your existing PRAN credentials on the CRA portal. However, deferment is no longer an option, though you can continue contributing voluntarily until age 70. You can withdraw 60% of the corpus tax-free and must use the remaining 40% to purchase an annuity, which will provide a monthly pension. To start your retirement, select an annuity plan from an NPS-empanelled insurance provider, and they will handle the disbursements. Ensure to log in to your account to manage the process effectively.

Good morning. I have recently retired after 16 plus years with a company at the age of 65. My EPFO account has been active during this period. How long will the interest on my capital continue to accrue. Is the 3 year period valid after 65 as well? I have not completed 10 years before reaching the age of 58 so my pension money can be withdrawn? Please advise. Thank you.

Ans: After retiring at 65, your EPF account will continue earning interest for 3 years from the last contribution, after which it becomes inactive, though the principal remains safe for withdrawal anytime. Since you have not completed 10 years of service, you are not eligible for an EPS monthly pension but can withdraw the entire pension contribution as a lump sum by submitting Form 10C. Similarly, use Form 19 to withdraw your EPF balance if you don't plan to rejoin employment. Ensure your KYC is updated for smooth processing.
