I am a very indecisive person. I opted PCMB in 12th state board.I got very good percentage in boards and top ranks in all the competitive exams I have written thus far be it medical, engineering, nursing, allied or bsc courses or university entrance exams. I have a good chance in almost all the courses out there but I am not able to find my intrest. I love science that's why I opted it. Due to poor eyesight I refrained from taking computer science and took biology instead. I had a close knowledgeable relative whom I sought career advice from but he just spoilt my head. Whatever profession I put forward for advice he negatively turns them down demeaning them and forces me to do nursing glorifying it(his wife is a nurse) whereas initially he was the one to support me to do mbbs. Now all of a sudden his behaviour has changed. I have nothing against nursing but the more he forces the more I hate to do it. Even when I think of other professions his negative remarks just linger in my mind and everything just blurs out. I am in a terrible state right now. Not knowing which course to opt and the deadlines are near.
Ans: HI
I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling this way. It sounds like you're in a difficult position, caught between multiple options and conflicting advice. It's great that you love science and have done well in various competitive exams, this opens up a lot of opportunities for you.
Related to the Nursing course issue, if you are not interested in it, then do not go for that. Considering your poor eyesight problems you have to change your path of career. You can think about physiotherapy courses which are in high demand nowadays. Or you can think about B.Pharma and some certified courses like Optometry (which will boost your career). As far as possible keep a safe distance from your relative.
On priority, It is better to take the admission either in B.Phama, B.Sc., or even commerce. Wait for the next 5-6 months till you become stable. Then take a review of multiple courses which can be done side by side as per your interest. Even you can think of going for interior design courses. A lot of options are there. Don't get frustrated at this stage. Life is too long. Keep in touch with us regularly. One day, you will get the success!
