I switched colleges twice after class 12, and am currently pursuing law in a new NLU. However, I feel drawn towards management and do think that with proper preparation I can ace cat...the current college life feels hectic and tiring, so if I clear cuet and get into SSCBS for BMS, it is wise to join then? I will have 3 years of gap then...where exactly do gap years affect one in their journey? (Is it during opportunities in UG? Jobs after UG? Opportunities in IIMs? Jobs after MBA?) Also, if i want more flexibility and freedom to pursue things, is it a good idea to join BBA at IIM Bangalore? Even though is will be online (with offline entrance and offline college exams) there will be no mention of it in the final degree and it holds the same weight as a normal college degree...so are there any hidden challenges that might come up if i want to pursue it with the intention of taking CAT later?

Ans: Doing BBA from IIM Bangalore is a good option and will give you a lot of flexibility. But you will lose out on college life. Course at IIM Bangalore is a good one specifically if you are focused on your career. But would recommend you to involve in extra curricular activities like NGO or Rotract etc. to build on your profile.
To bridge your gap years complete your current year at NLU, it will show that you have studied for 1 year at NLU and not wasted a year.

Thanks for answering! Would you recommend BBA from IIM B over BBA from a tier 3 regular college? Also, with the flexibility offered, there could be a whole lot of skills that could be learned on the side, so the path does seem to appeal to me…but do you think that the course could be seen less favourably by recruiters or even top B Schools as compared to degrees from normal colleges? I cleared IPMAT this time but couldn’t clear the interview stage, so i do think that with a few months of proper coaching i can get a high enough percentile in CAT, but the gap years and the uncertainty around the perception bothers me a bit… Also, great point on the completion of first year at NLU, it didn’t cross my mind, and with the NEP, i think they even give credits based on that…
