The third big vertical is Electronics, IT, Software and other allied areas. For the first two there is plenty of software elements in them. You have to look at where is your interest.

Ans: You are lucky to have a son who has got admission in many good institutions. Sit with him and take a decision based on his interest. I can see barring one college, rest of the colleges are offering him BTech in diff shades of Computers. Let the two of you do a bit more of research and decide. Whichever college he picks his goal has to be to excel. Do also factor in the fee and hostel expenses to get him a feel of improtance of money.
