3rd Gen IITs for CSE: Good Option for Me?

As a career counsellor and mentor, he has been tutoring students from Classes I to XII (predominantly CBSE), UG (engineering) and others for nearly a decade.
He has worked as a lecturer and professor at the Kuppam Engineering College, Kuppam; the NRI Group of Institutions in Bhopal; and the Bhopal Institute of Technology and Science in Bhopal.
Parthiban qualified for GATE in 2002, 2011 and 2013 and has been training aspirants to prepare for NEET-UG and IIT-JEE.
He holds a bachelor's degree in computer science and engineering from the Guru Ramdas Khalsa Institute of Technology College in Madhya Pradesh and a bachelor's degree in education, specialising in physics and mathematics, from the Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati.... more

Is it good to pursue cse in 3rd gen IITs?

Ans: OMG that's like questioning the working of GOI.
Even private institutions take some time to come to shape.
Funds may not be a problem for government funded institutions but since the development has to be systematic, it takes little time to complete the facilities.
If there is a green signal to run a course from an institution especially government institution, it means they have all the capability to run it.
So we can go ahead and start our studies there.
The hostels and other amenities take a bit of time which if we can accomodate then no issues.
But you can very well pursue CSE in the mentioned IITs.

Our preference is CSE Sir, but is IIT worth in terms of faculties, campus, internship and placements?

Ans: Please note, (1) IIT-Tirupati is not a Tier 1 IIT Category. (2) Success of your career does NOT depend only upon where you join, but also depends upon your self-motivation | dedication | upgrading your skills | extra-co-curricular activities | your professional Linkedin Profile | Your aptitude-attitude-personality traits. If you have these qualities, you can easily got job even off-campus (3) No College (including Top IITs) can be 100% perfect as far as Faculties, Campus. Internship & Placements are concerned except some very few colleges. Keeping in view these factors, you can confidently join IIT-T which also has good placement records. Hope I have clarified your doubt. All The BEST.

Sir please clarify are iiit better then iit non core for cse?

Ans: For a student focused specifically on software/tech careers, the top IIITs can be better than lower-demand non-core branches at many IITs, but the premier IIT brand/network still outweighs most IIITs unless the IIT branch is a very poor fit for the student’s interests.

Ans: VIT Vellore/Chennai CSE specializations may be your best options. Chances of getting CSE at a government college are low unless through the state quota/reservation benefits. If possible, participate in the WB state counselling process to get a decent college, even with a lower branch. As you are a female candidate from WB, rethink the VIT option from all angles.
