Should I take a double drop for JEE and appear from NIOS in 2026?

Sir I passed 12th board with 65 percent from cbse in 2024 and i didn't appear for jee mains that year but i reappeared for improvement this year to cross the threshold of 75 criteria but i feel i have low chances and i really want a good govt college so my question is should i take a double drop and appear as a candidate from nios board and if i do am i an eligible candidate for jee adv for 2026

Ans: ou can attempt JEE Advanced only twice, in consecutive years after passing Class 12.

Since you passed Class 12 in 2024, you are eligible for JEE Advanced 2025, but not for 2026 under normal circumstances.

If you clear the 75% criteria in 2025 (CBSE improvement) → Take JEE in 2025 (Best Option).

If you fail to meet 75% in 2025 → Consider switching to NIOS and appearing for JEE in 2026.

Ans: Sultan, Yes, you can take a drop year for JEE Mains and appear in both 2025 and 2026. However, for JEE Advanced, your final attempt will be in 2025, as IITs allow only one year of gap after Class 12. If your goal is to get into an IIT, you must clear JEE Advanced in 2025. However, if you're open to NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs, you can take an additional drop and appear for JEE Mains in 2026. To maximize your chances, it’s highly recommended to apply for 5-7 entrance exams and explore state-level counseling processes alongside JEE Mains, rather than relying solely on one exam. To achieve a good rank in JEE Advanced, aim for at least a 90 percentile in JEE Main, though a 95+ percentile significantly improves your chances. All the BEST for your Prosperous Future. Ans: Taking a double drop with NIOS will not extend your JEE Advanced eligibility. Focus on performing well in your improvement exams in 2025 to meet the eligibility criteria. If eligible, prepare seriously for JEE Advanced 2026 as it will be your final attempt.

sir i had a doubt i passed class 12th with cbse board scoring 64 percent in total in 2024 and did not appear for jee mains, in 2025 i gave improvement exam but i am not sure if i will cross 75 criteria and also appeared in jee mains 2025 but i want a good govt college should i appear once again for 75 percent criteria with nios board and if i do will it be some problem in mains and adv??

The condition of 75%tile is mandatory. It would be better to appear before the NIOS board to get the required percentile. There will be no problem in the mains and advanced examinations. Thanks

I would honestly recommend you to avoid ULIPs under all circumstances because they are inefficient both for insurance as well as investment returns.

It is better to buy adequate term life cover and invest in NPS and mutual funds for retirement and other financial goals.

No need to panic. That was your need at that point of time so it's okay.

First and foremost open an NPS account for retirement planning. It allows very limited withdrawals.

Invest in it as much as possible. You can also set-up monthly regular investment into NPS through D-remit feature.

Even if you invest 25 K per month in NPS you may expect a corpus of 1.8 Cr at the age of 60 assuming modest return of 8%.

Ans: Adarsh, as per the Information Brochure of BITSAT 2025: Session Selection
Candidates can register for Session-1 or both sessions while submitting the application.
If the candidates initially register only for Session-1, they may opt for Session-2 later (application window: 26th May 2025 to 10th June 2025). Score Consideration :For candidates appearing in both sessions, the higher of the two scores will be considered for admission. According to this information, you may apply for both sessions or just for session 1. It is not possible to apply solely for session-2. The date has been extended until April 24th, with only 2 days remaining. It’s advisable to apply for both as a contingency if your primary focus is on BITS. All the best for your admissions!
