Should my child pursue certificate courses for computer engineering at NIAMT Ranchi?

Hi sir Our child joined computer engineering in NIAMT Ranchi. Is there need certificate courses? If yes which courses preferable?pls advise.

Ans: Manohar Sir, Additional skills/certifications are mandatory to be competitive in the job market. Most Recruiters/Companies recognize one of the best & most affordable online certification programs offered by NPTEL. Suggest your son to go through the site to get an idea. Their video lectures are free. You will have to pay only the Exam Fee which will be conducted offline. He can join those certification courses, recommended by his College Faculties. There are other Online Certification Platforms but comparatively, it will be costlier. Advise him to have a Professional LinkedIn Profile and keep updating it every 3 months. Also to put job alerts in LinkedIn, related to his domain, to know the current/changing job market trends. He can start doing online certifications after his 1st semester. No hurry Sir now. Respected Sir My Son secured 80% in +2 (CBSE Board) and also got 82 percentile in IIT JEE Mains. We belong to Coimbatore. He is interested in CSC and want to develop his skills in Programming.Now my son got B.E CSC in Saveetha Engineering College, Affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. Saveetha Engineering is offering mandatory NPTEL/SWAYM from the III year . Kindly advice him for his future career with the extra skill courses.

Ans: Please note, (1) Saveetha Engineering College is a Reputed College & your Son can go ahead with it (2) It is good, NPTEL / SWAYAM are mandatory which I have recommended in some of my answers (please go through my answers below). Sir,my son is now +2 computer science,our native vellore Tamilnadu,suggest us best course and college

Ans: You have fully mentioned his subject combination & his board (TN State Board or CBSE?).

Anyway, he should appear for minimum 5-7 Entrance Exams such as JEE, COMEDK, PESSAT, VITEEE, SRMJEE, AEEE & can participate in TNEA Counselling also.

Based on his performance / score / percentile / Rank in the above entrance exams, he can easily choose the most suitable college/course for him from among 100s of options. All the BEST for Your Bright Future.

Sir, my son is in 1st year B tech Computer Engineering with Data Science at Kiit, Bhubaneswar. Please suggest about certification courses and other learning which he should undertake in parallel to the college course, for enhancing domain knowledge both from learning and future professional career perspective. Ans: There are a number of online platforms providing CERTIFICATION programs. One of the best online Certification Course Platform is NPTEL, the Certificate of which is recognized by most companies and even most colleges recommend it apart from other platforms like UpGrade, Coursera, LinkedIn, Internshala etc. And the best sources to recommend perfect courses would be his college faculties. Please advise him to create his Professional Linkedin Profile and should keep updating it every 3 months once he qualifies any certifications and / or any other activities. He should also put Job Alerts, based on his domain, in LinkedIn to get notifications of job vacancies to know the job market trends from the Job Description (JD). Please go through one of my lengthy answers in which I have provided the steps/tips/strategies to be followed by a 1st year Engineering Student till last year. Also my vitee rank 70823 so I can get vit ap ...I want cse with specialization...tell me which one to choose

Ans: Choose Amrita if possible, else prefer Hyderabad colleges like CVR or Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology over VIT-AP. The final decision will be yours and your family members'.

My son obc ncl category has jee mail 95.7 percentile and aeee 10000 rank suggest me better course and institute we are from tamilnadu

Ans: At JEE Main 95.7 percentile, OBC-NCL, Tamil Nadu, NIT Trichy CSE/ECE is unlikely; try NIT Trichy Mechanical/Chemical/Civil/Production/Metallurgy through HS quota. Also fill IIITDM Kancheepuram ECE/Mechanical/Smart Manufacturing, IIIT Sri City, IIIT Kottayam, GFTIs and CSAB rounds. JoSAA uses category rank for OBC-NCL cut-offs, so check exact OBC rank carefully.

With AEEE rank 10000, Amrita is a strong option: prefer Coimbatore ECE/EEE/Mechanical or Bengaluru/Amritapuri CSE-specialisations, if available. Amrita lists Coimbatore, Bengaluru, Amritapuri, Chennai and other campuses for BTech. All the Best for Your Son's Prosperous Future!

Ans: Try with IIIT Bhagalpur / Kurnool / Una / Agartala, MMMUT Gorakhpur, HBTU Kanpur, or IET Lucknow (spot/UP counselling).

Ans: Prefer CSE/CSE AI @ IIIT-Delhi over lower branches in lower IITs unless and until you are stuck with an IIT brand with compromised branch.

My daughter get ECE in SRM KTR in phase 1. Fee is to be deposited before 31.05.2026. If she got CSE branch in phase 2, them the fee deposited will be adjusted or to be deposite again.

Hello, So i have secured a seat in VIT vellore in the branch ECE with minors in AI in Cat 3 but i also have a chance in Amrita Coimbature in Slab 3 ...so is it better for me to go with VIT or choose any other branch in Amrita which might be interesting excpet CSE

Ans: Remain at VIT Vellore unless you specifically prefer Amrita’s environment or fees.
