If you feel you will never see this man as anything more than a friend's son, please do not push yourself to marry him. There is no love or romance in this arrangement; at least, not yet. And it seems like they are only pushing it because the guy has a condition. Please do not settle for just anyone because you are worried about being alone. Marriages can be lonely too.
