I have more than 16 years of experience in construction field as mechanical engineer. I never found any permanent type of job and mostly company offered me only contractual job for 3 years of contract. Recently one of the company offered me 20 lakhs of package that too in contractual position . shall I joined there. The company is newly formed in India and original from USA.

Ans: You need to focus on what your professional / career goals are... whether contractual or permanent is the job making use of your potential and interesting you? If so, go ahead and do a basic research on the company - people strength, who the leadership is, what are the financials (if available readily), and go ahead.

Iam 35 years old working in reputed pvt steel and power sector. Worked in power plant operations for 13 years suddenly my employer organize promotion exam in which I selected told you will be placed in power project which I agree as behind operation I will learns also about its Project. But after promoting placed in civil project in Amenities which is different area not being interest in that job. I discussed with Higher management told as per buisness requirment you have to here for 3 years compulsory after that you will be changed.So in that period I will forgot my area interest and all my 13yrs exp will go in vain. iam getting offer from small pvt sector for my core area. So sir shall I switch or stick to it as it secure job.

It is better to stay in the same company for security. In any case, your company has promised to bring you back to your core area after 3 years.

At 38 you should be open to explore places for career. While each has her/his own priorities nonetheless you need ask yourself what matters to you most...career growth or wanting to stay with friends and family.

There is no right or wrong answers, but just choices and it's consequences.

I am 1968born with M. Tech from IITDelhi to get Campus Placement job offer in Indian Industrial House from 1993to 2022. I also earned Senior Management Professional (SMP10) from IIM Calcutta. I developed machines for Heavy Engineering in Cimmco which is Titagarh Wagon of Choudhary Group after Campus Placement from IITDelhi. I am in my own 3BHK apartment in Ranchi after termination from BITMesra for political reason as I had sued VC,Registrar &Director BITDeoghar due to their false allegation. My son is working in Wells Fargo after Campus Placement from IITDelhi &daughter is in MuSigma. My wife no more like my Mother-in-law due to Covid. Should I work after ?? experience?

Ans: Can look out for working Part time, if not full time. Can look at launching your own courses on Online Platforms in the area of your expertise or teach in some college. Could also look at working in a startup which are relevant to your field of expertise. There are also options of work from home.

I am 66, worked in sales marketing and warehouse management for over 30 years in Southern African. Retired a year back and came to India. After sitting home for a year found it very difficult, boaring and health loosing, again felt a strong desire in me to do some work, will prefer work from home or out, for 5-6 hrs, again enabling me to spend a health enjoyable and active life. Really feeling very difficult to find a job of my caliber and liking at this age in India. Pls advice
