MNNIT cse branch and IIIT Bangalore cse which is better for placement and coding

Ans: Vijaya, Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) Allahabad’s B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering, an Institute of National Importance with NAAC A+ accreditation, is delivered by over 100 faculty (80% PhD) across specialized AI, data-structures, and networking labs. Its CSE branch recorded 87.44% placements in 2025, with average packages rising to ?28.38 LPA over three years and a 94.47% 2024 placement rate. The MNNIT Computer Coding Club hosts HACK36 with 1 200+ participants, fostering peer learning and national-level hackathons. IIIT Bangalore’s iMTech CSE, part of a private A+ NAAC university, features research-active PhD faculty, cutting-edge AI/ML and cybersecurity labs, and a dedicated placement cell making 578 offers in 2024, achieving near-100% placement and an average package of ?33.4 LPA. A vibrant coding ecosystem—Clubs like Zen, GDSC, & Enigma—organize major hackathons and workshops, enhancing coding proficiency and industry networking.

Final recommendation: For highest placement consistency, stronger average packages, and an internationally recognized coding community, recommendation is IIIT Bangalore CSE. Choose MNNIT Allahabad CSE if you prefer a government institute’s heritage, broad national hackathon exposure, and a solid public-sector placement record. All the BEST for Admission & a Prosperous Future!

My daughter has scored 93.7 percentile in JEE. She has Chandigarh home state quota and is a female candidate. I want to know that if she gets Aerospace, mechanical, civil in Punjab Engineering College, should we take admission there? She is also getting ECE in Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology through Punjab quota, but the fees are a bit high for us. So, if she gets any lower branch in PEC, should we still consider taking admission there, or is there some better college where we should enroll her instead? Among Mit or Thapar which one is best
Ans: Niti Madam, before I answer your question, I would like to suggest that your daughter choose a branch she is genuinely interested in, rather than selecting one just because it is available to her. Now, to answer your question, at the 93.7 percentile, the approximate CRL may be around 95,000–1,05,000. With Chandigarh's home-state quota, PEC lower branches are realistic: JoSAA 2025 PEC HS closing ranks show Civil up to around 1.06 lakh, Aerospace around 55000, and Mechanical likely tougher than Civil. PEC is a government, low-fee, strong-brand, good alumni and Chandigarh location, so Civil/Mechanical/Aerospace at PEC is worth considering if fees are a major concern. Between MIT Manipal and Thapar, choose Thapar ECE if fees are affordable; choose PEC if ROI, lower cost and government tag matter more. Final preference: Thapar ECE > PEC Mechanical > PEC Aerospace > PEC Civil.

However, for placements, Thapar ECE is academically/industry-wise stronger than PEC Civil/Aerospace, but only if the higher fee is manageable. Thapar’s ECE department has its own placement/recruiter ecosystem. All the Best for Your Daughter's Prosperous Future!
