My son may get Bits Goa MnC, Bits Hyderabad CSE, Dtu MnC, IT/ SE. and PEC Chandigarh CSE. What should he take?? This is 3rd time u am asking

Ans: Vikas Sir, prefer BITS-H-CSE, followed by DTU-IT, PEC-C-CSE. If he is very much interested in /passionate and confident over Maths, have BITS-G-MnC as his first choice, followed by others. All the BEST for Your Son's Bright Future.

sir, I have 2 pf account for same organization and while the pf amount is transferred from old to new account, there is still some eps amount remaining in the old account. Due to this reason I am unable to withdraw my pf amount, as I have to transfer the eps amount to new account. but when I attempt to do so , I get a prompt saying "Details of previous account are different than present account. Hence claim request cannot be processed.". Please help me . Also the DOE(Date of exit is not mentioned in old account) , the employer says DOE cannot be entered as you are in the same organization . Please advise in this regard.

You may submit eps transfer request alongwith form 10 C to the EPFO office where your pf accounts are held.

You may route this EPS transfer request through HR Deptt. of your organization.

Hello sir, I am 33years old and like to have a stable life with a good retirement corpus along with children education. I have 2 sons both are of 1 and 3years old respectively and my wife is a housewife. I am having FD of 16L, 10L in gold, bought a flat paying housing loan EMI of 25K, having term insurance for 1cr and health insurance for 4L. I am making investments in mutual funds SIP of 30k since last 1 year. Hdfc dividend yeild fund 1000 Icici bluechip fund 8000 Quant small cap fund 1000 Canara robecco small cap fund 1000 Uti nifty index fund 5000 Icici balanced advantage fund 5000 Jm flexicap fund 2000 Quant elss fund 5000 Parag pareekh flexicap fund 2000 Lumsum Investments Sbi healthcare fund 20K Quant infrastruture fund 10k Sbi magnum gilt fund 20k Plz advice....am i really doing good with these investments or shall i replan my investments....

Ans: Hello;

Having 12 funds(9 sip+3 lumpsum) in portfolio is not required.

You need to just 4 funds for your sip of 30 K(divided equally):
1. Flexicap fund
2. Large and midcap fund
3. Balanced advantage fund
4. Multi asset allocation fund

You may consider exiting the sectoral, thematic and debt fund owned by you and redeploy it in your regular funds.

This ensures equity(large cap oriented)is predominant asset class in your portfolio but it also has exposure to debt and gold for balance and risk mitigation.

Also keep a target to step up sip amount every year by 7-10% atleast.

This will go towards higher education provision for your kids. (~1.85 Cr in 15 years considering 7% annual top-up and 10% modest returns)

For your retirement planning you may consider NPS and start with a decent amount(~30 K pm) as regular investment since time is on your side(27 years to hit 60 age).[3.45 Cr in 27 years without any step up consideration. 8% returns assumed].

Consider buying home loan insurance and super top-up health cover.

Hello Mr.Vipul...Pl guide as to which Cost Price will be applicable on Sale of HDFC Bank shares now onwards (held since 31Jan2018) and Merger of Parent HDFC Housing Fin.Ltd.(Also held since 31Jan.2018) on July2024.Since HDFC Bank Shares were also Split in 1 into 2 in Sept.2019 i.e; before Merger & after 31Jan.2018. Will the Cost be taken as Half of 31Jan.2018 Valuation or any other...??? Your Expert advice will be Appreciated....Thanks/Regards.

Ans: Dear Sir,
The cost of acquisition of shares purchased before 31 Jan 2018 and sold there after shall be as follows

COA of such investments shall be deemed to be the higher of:

The actual COA of such investments; and
The lower of-
Fair Market Value (‘FMV’) of such investments as on 31 Jan 2018; and
the Full Value of Consideration received or accruing as a result of the transfer of the capital asset i.e. the Sale Price
Further, the FMV would be the highest price quoted on the recognised stock exchange on 31 January 2018.

Though there has been split up of shares, that does not change the COA since the COA will be distributed over all the shares of respective company and Total amount of COA shall be arrived as per the method given above.

Ans: UFM will NOT be mentioned on your degree but may be in internal records.
One subject fail (with reappear) won’t ruin your career if you recover well.
Placements & future jobs depend more on skills, CGPA, and experience rather than one failed subject.

Ans: Your daughter, being a PCB student (without Mathematics in 10+2), generally cannot pursue a regular B.Tech course since most engineering colleges require Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as mandatory subjects for eligibility. She will not get good stream in good college with 79.2 percentile.

Hello sir, my Salary income is Rs.18 lacs and have total deduction of around Rs.4.50 lacs which includes Home loan interest, 80C, 80D and NPS. Please advise tax liability as today's budget under old tax regime and new tax regime.

Ans: Considering standard deduction of 75k, interest on self occupied home of 2 lacs, 80C deduction of 1.5 lacs, 80D of 50k, 25k NPS contribution by employer and employee each; taxable income will reduce to 13 lacs in old regime and under new tax regime it will be reduced to 17 lacs. Accordingly, tax liability as per proposed amendment for FY 25-26 will be Rs.145600 under new and Rs.210600 under old scheme

Hi Mihir, I want to know why there is tax slabs when there is no tax payable for salary of Rs. 12 LPA as per FM

Ans: There is no tax liability if taxable salary is 12 lacs, however, as soon as salary crosses 12 lacs; benefit of tax rebate will not be available and tax calculation is required to be done from the salary of 4 lacs. Thus, slab rate is provided.
