Sir/ Ma'am, I am 35 working as a senior content writer with an MNC. I am MA in Pol Sci and also doing MA in Journalism and Mass Communication from IGNOU in 2nd year. I want to do PhD in Journalism and Mass Communication in Patna through regular mode, but I am really scared seeing colleges in Patna dont have streamlined PhD course. Pls Help and suggest me good Patna-based institutes where I can do PhD in journalism and mass communications. Also, some people are saying it takes 8-10 years to complete PhD, it really makes me scared and I dont have any idea about total cost of PhD in mass Com from pvt or public college in Patna. Pls help!

Ans: Hello Atish.

Given your background and ongoing MA in Journalism, you're on the right track. While PhDs require dedication, proper planning, and selecting the right institution will ease your path.
Here are some institutions in Patna for P.Hd.
(1) Patna University
(2) Amity University Patna
(3) Central University of South Bihar (Gaya)
If you are not satisfied with any one of the above, then shift to another city.

Typically, a PhD takes 3-5 years, but delays can occur due to research complexity or institutional inefficiencies. Whatever you heard about 8-10 years is also correct. Most frankly speaking, even after joining, many students drop the plan for P.Hd. after a few years also. The duration of the PhD. it totally upon the relation between "Guide and Student"! Somehow, if you fail to maintain the relationship, with the guide, then anything worse can happen. It is highly recommended to go through the profile of the Guide, under whom you will complete P.Hd.
Related to cost, typically you have to arrange 50 K to 1 Lac for some universities and it may go up to 2 to 3 Lac for private universities.
As you want to pursue P.Hd., it is better to visit or contact these universities to inquire about their PhD structure, faculty, and research opportunities.

If you are dissatisfied with the reply, please ask again without hesitation.
If satisfied, please like and follow me.
Thanks.

I am engineer with 16 years of IT experience and now a break of 11 yrs. But in 11 yrs I had been taking Quantitative aptitude lectures as a visiting faculty in various engineering and MBA colleges and also done Mutual fund certification. I haven't been siting but doing many things professionally in last 11 yrs(In my subject of interest as Maths, Teaching, Finance, Accounting, Wealth Management). I was thinking of doing ESG certification. What kind of role I would get if i am CFA ESG certified.I am looking for Professionally and intellectually engaging role where I can contribute to Society. Not a very NGO type( I have tried working with few NGO's)
Ans: I won't recommend you to go for ESG certification unless you are having a background of Env. Engg and Environmental Impact Assessment. The certificate course of ESG is costly also. I would request you to open your own academy ( if off line not possible then online) and go for only one subject. Let me know your age.Focus only on one subject. You have explored many areas and now you are perplexed. Here the questions are assigned to me through rediffmail. So second time whether your question will come to me or not is not known to anyone of us. Due to the policy I can’t share my email ID and Phone Number. But I would request you to follow me in LINKEDIN and send request so that I can accept you, then through LINKEDIN I can counsel you in the future multiple times. Through LINKEDIN I will be readily and easily accessible. I have counselled and changed thousands of lives. As long as I am there I won’t allow you to be defeated. Mind that always I am there with you like an invisible shadow to show you the right career path.
