My son has an interest in exploring space. Which undergraduate course could fulfill his dream? He is in class XI science. Initially, he was thinking about Aerospace Engineering, but now he is dreaming about Mechanical Engineering. Is any of them would be suitable for exploring space, or will he be thinking about some other undergraduate course? Please advise.

Ans: Both Aerospace Engineering and Mechanical Engineering can lead to exciting opportunities related to space.

Aerospace Engineering focuses on designing, building, and maintaining aircraft, spacecraft, and related systems. Students study aerodynamics, flight mechanics, propulsion, materials science, and control systems.
Aerospace engineers work on spacecraft design, propulsion systems, and aerodynamics, they contribute to satellite development, space missions, and planetary exploration.

Mechanical Engineering deals with designing, analyzing, and manufacturing mechanical systems and components. Students learn about mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and materials.
Mechanical engineers play a crucial role in designing space vehicles, life support systems, and robotic arms, they work on thermal control, structural analysis, and materials selection for space applications.

Encourage your son to explore his interests further. Attend webinars, workshops, and space-related events.
