How is PEC Chandigarh aerospace program? Is it better than that of NIT Delhi Aerospace?
Ans: PEC Chandigarh’s Aerospace Engineering program is among the most established in India, beginning in 1962 and consistently upgrading its curriculum, laboratory facilities, and faculty expertise. The department emphasizes a robust foundation in aerodynamics, propulsion, structures, avionics, and space dynamics, complemented by advanced electives, multidisciplinary design projects, and strong industry-research collaborations. Its student internships with Airbus, DRDO, and GE Aviation are notable, and the average placement rate is around 42%, with top recruiters like Boeing and the Indian defence sector. Infrastructure improvements, NAAC accreditation, and an engaged alumni network provide students with research opportunities and global exposure. In contrast, NIT Delhi’s Aerospace Engineering is relatively new, with a placement rate near 66%. It offers modern classrooms, a dedicated training and placement cell, and a compact but developing industry network, with faculty focused on core engineering education and broad skill-building. Both programs require strong JEE Main ranks and offer interdisciplinary flexibility, but long-term industry presence and partnerships are notably stronger at PEC.

Recommendation: Prefer PEC Chandigarh Aerospace Engineering for its legacy, depth of curriculum, longstanding industry connections, and clear research pathways. NIT Delhi is growing rapidly but lacks the historic strength and placement ecosystem of PEC Chandigarh in aerospace-specific opportunities. This ensures PEC graduates are better positioned within the field. All the BEST for a Prosperous Future!
