Hello Sir, My son is entering class 11 and would like to pursue science. He is interested in doing Computer science but not so very much interested in studying mathematics. He finds biology more interesting but would not like to pursue Medical stream. But to get into Engineering college through JEE etc. one must be very good in maths. How do we tackle this problem?

Ans: He can take math as one of the core subjects and study statistics in university. Applied math is also an option in university. What are his other interests, if I may know?

Ans: If he wants to Engg then Math is necessary in 10+1 and 10+2. If he is looking at those career options then it is recommended that he takes up Math in is 10+2 level to keep his options open.

Ans: Both paths have their unique rewards. Your son should choose based on what truly excites him!
It is not based on biology & mathematic subject only, you have to focus on.
Passion: Encourage your son to follow his passion. Does he enjoy patient care and medicine, or does he love solving technical problems?
Long-Term Goals: Consider his aspirations. Does he want to directly impact people’s health or contribute to technological advancements?
Which field excited him more will be the career path.
Job Profile for Doctors are to diagnose, treat, and care for patients. They can be specialize in various fields like Pediatrics, Surgery, Cardiology, and more.
Whereas Job Profile for Engineers are to design, analyze, and construct machines, systems, and technology.
Go ahead with broad future perspective.

Ans: Do not insist him. Ask him about his willingness. In which stream he wants to do his higher studies?
