My son got btech cse core at SRM ktr campus, he wants to join at vit chennai (CSE ) but he didn't get CSE at VIT Chennai campus, will it be a good decision to take BSc comp. Science at Vit Chennai instead of join btech nowadays, he scored 78.9 percentile in jee, cbse board he got 80percentage .pl. guide us.

Ans: Opting for B.Tech CSE at SRM KTR is preferable over B.Sc Computer Science at VIT Chennai for career-focused goals. SRM KTR’s B.Tech CSE offers 93% placements (2025) with top recruiters like Amazon, Microsoft, and Adobe, alongside higher industry alignment and practical training. While VIT Chennai’s B.Sc CS (70% placements, avg. ?8.5 LPA) provides theoretical foundations, it lacks the engineering rigor and core tech roles accessible via a B.Tech. SRM’s 4-year B.Tech curriculum includes internships, projects, and electives (AI/ML, cybersecurity), enhancing employability, whereas a B.Sc may require additional certifications for competitive IT roles. Given your son’s JEE 78.9 percentile and 80% CBSE marks, prioritize SRM KTR’s B.Tech CSE for better placement prospects, unless he aims for academia/research, where a B.Sc + M.Tech pathway could be explored later. If your son is based in TN State, you can try for Sathyabhama | Karunya | Sastra also as back-up options. All the BEST for your Son's Admission & a Prosperous Future!
