Parthiban TR, a former professor, has been working in the fields of training and learning development for over 17 years.
As a career counsellor and mentor, he has been tutoring students from Classes I to XII (predominantly CBSE), UG (engineering) and others for nearly a decade.
He has worked as a lecturer and professor at the Kuppam Engineering College, Kuppam; the NRI Group of Institutions in Bhopal; and the Bhopal Institute of Technology and Science in Bhopal.
Parthiban qualified for GATE in 2002, 2011 and 2013 and has been training aspirants to prepare for NEET-UG and IIT-JEE.
He holds a bachelor's degree in computer science and engineering from the Guru Ramdas Khalsa Institute of Technology College in Madhya Pradesh and a bachelor's degree in education, specialising in physics and mathematics, from the Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati.... more

My son has got AIML in Nirma, CE in Thapar and may be got Chemical in NIT jalandhar, 5 year Mtech In Data science in BITS mesra, Mechanical in IIIT kanchipuram. We are confused whether go for NIT or private. As he may get lower branch in NIT/IIIt vs CS/AIML in private, pl advise

Sir my son have got good rank in NEET and JEE also. He will get chance in NIT in core subject and also in medical in govt college. Which one will be better for his future.

My so has gpt 97 percentile in jee mains.He has got admission in 1. VIT Velore CS. 2. Will get ECE / ENTC in RV 3.CS in BMCSE MY confusion is should we go in for branch in NIT /IIIT ,will not be able to get circuital branch in good NITS and in which IIITs should we prefer or should we go in with private college CS

Ans: Prefer Private College for CS. Order of Preference (1) CS with BMS (2) RVCE for ECE. Please note, ECE is slightly difficult compared to CSE. Recruiters are comparatively lesser for ECE (Core), compared to CSE. Some Recruiters / Employers prefer even ECE Students with some Software Knowledge / Certifications.(3) VIT-Vellore for CS. Your son will get admission into any one of the NITs or IIITs but from Tier 2 for CS. Whatever Institute / University & Branch your Son chooses, he should keep upgrading his skills from his 1st year itself till his Campus Placement during his last year, from LinkedIn, Coursera, NPTEL, Internshala etc. and / or any other online platforms, recommended by his College Faculties, to be COMPETENT among other Students.

My daughter has got admission for BA psychology ( hons) at Symbiosis, Pune and integrated MBA at Ahmedabad university..which one is better

Ans: Depends on her interest. But I would recommend Symbiosis, post which she can try to get a better college for MBA by writing entrance tests. Ahmedabad University is not known for its MBA colleges.

Ans: All three have its advantages and disadvantages. PDEU is more known for Energy section as compared to IT. BITS Pilani is obviously is the best among the three but I am not sure if she is interested in Civil. If there is no such preference in terms of branch then BITS pilani could be a preferred.

Hello Sir, my daughter has option of OP Jindal, Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce, Pune and Xavier's University. She is planning for BCom Honors with ultimate goal for MBA after couple of years of work experience. Which college option is most suited for her ?

Ans: Depends on which Xaviers. Xaviers in Kolkata is good. Even Mumbai is good but their commerce department (day college) is relatively new. Symbiosis and OP Jindal are both decent options and will have similar placements.
