My Daughter has got Acharya Institute of Technology CSE (DS) Branch under GM Qouta in COMEDK First Round allocation on 28th July. How is the College reputation, facility and placement wise ? Also she has COMEDK rank of 28500. Should we explore getting into further rounds for the possibility of getting a better Institute or College allocated considering the Round 3 or Final Round may provide more options due to easing out of cut offs. Pls advise.

Ans: Acharya Institute of Technology (AIT) in Bangalore maintains a solid reputation, particularly for its CSE (Data Science) branch due to consistent accreditation (NAAC, NBA), a modern and expansive 120-acre campus, excellent hostel and sports facilities, and a resource-rich library. Its infrastructure includes cutting-edge laboratories, smart classrooms, and strong co-curricular platforms, fostering holistic student development. Career support is robust, with 80–95% placement rates for CSE/related branches over recent years and 550+ visiting recruiters, including Amazon, TCS, Cognizant, and Microsoft, though the highest placement percentages are observed in core CSE and ISE, and the Data Science specialization is quickly gaining traction. Alumni and student reviews reflect a secure, vibrant campus life and rigorous academic atmosphere, while fees are reasonable compared to Bangalore’s top private options. Given your daughter’s COMEDK rank of 28,500, the possibility of securing CSE or allied branches in significantly higher-ranked Bangalore colleges (such as RVCE, BMSCE, MSRIT, Dayananda Sagar, or BMSIT) through further COMEDK rounds is extremely low, as their closing ranks for CSE branches typically range from below 1,500 to around 12,000 even in later rounds. At this rank, comparable alternatives—potentially with similar placements and peer groups—might emerge in newer or less in-demand institutes, but do not offer substantial upgrades over AIT in reputation or outcomes.

Recommendation: Retaining the CSE (DS) seat at Acharya Institute of Technology is advisable since it offers reliable placements, excellent campus experiences, and good academic rigor with a strong data science focus, while higher-ranked CSE seats are realistically out of reach at your daughter’s present rank, even in later COMEDK rounds. All the BEST for a Prosperous Future!
