Sir, My son completed 12th class, PCM subjects currently in mumbai scored 70%. He is interested to pursue Marine Engineering, but we are concerned what if he doesnot want to travel in ship or feeling sea-sickness. So we suggested to do mechanical engineering and do marine engineering certifications. Switching of career options is available. Is that approach is correct ? 2. Kindly suggest good marine engineering colleges in maharashtra or in Tamil nadu (regd academics and placement) through management quota. Tolani ,pune is good ? 3. Same for mechanical also please suggest. 4. Any other career options other than 2 above engineering courses, pls advise. Thanks Sudhakar

Ans: First decision is correct. Let him go for Mechanical Engineering. For the second question you are advised to search in net. Even for Mechanical Engineering you can see the ranking of the colleges in net. Another option is Production Engineering, if he doesn't get Mechanical, though in very few colleges Production Engineering is there. I think he will definitely get Mechanical. I couldn't understand why are you thinking of Management quota at the starting. Let him compete. If he fails then question of management quota will arise. Secondly never show your financial ease in front of your son. It will make him lazy and he will take his admission for granted. Best of luck. Just follow me. GOD BLESS HIM. Professor............:)

Hello sir, I am a 11th grade student. Now iam very confused amd depressed that what should i study now. Let me tell my goals. 1st thing is i want to get top 3 rank in my school examination and 2nd is to prepare for JEE MAIN examination and 3rd is to complete 12th std portions before May month 2025 to score a very good mark in my 12th board examination at 2026. And i also need to complete my JEE MAINS portions before november month for my Jee mains examination which is at Jan month and i need to crack it with 99 percentile at my first attempt and get into any one of the prestigious colleges. But iam very confused that what engineering should i choose. According to me I love all the engineering fields but i need to choose a field which will give the highest salary. These are the things that are revolving in my mind. Can you please give me perfect solution for my 5 confusions..
Ans: Hello dear.
Without taking an examination, without any score in hand, without any college in hand, without any course in hand, you are thinking and thinking and thinking for no reason. The goals/targets set by you are appreciable. But to convert them into reality, you have to work hard and excel in all the examinations. The highest salary is not only based on your degree or only on the college name. There are a lot of other parameters. Your journey is very long. Please keep your eyes only on your studies. Crack JEE (Mains + Adv) with a high score, get admission to a top IIT college, and choose the best course of your liking. Excel in the engineering then test the flavour of success. Best of luck for your upcoming bright future.

I am parent of a Child who is in 9th grade. He is interested in PCM and not interested in other subjects. What options other than Engg exist for PCM candidates - as I believe he may not be able to crack the IIT and am not in favour of him doing Engg from a third rung college. I would like to have backup options in case he doesn’t get into a good college after 12th.
Ans: Hello Sir
Your child is just in 9th. You are saying he is interested in PCM i.e. mathematics and claims that he will not be able to crack JEE. The IQ of a child changes continuously. It is a hurry to predict what will happen when he will be in 12th grade. The students who are weak at schooling, do better in 12th grade. It is also not feasible to explore the options that are available after 1the 2th before 4 years. The education system is changing day by day and more options are available to the students every year. I would like to suggest as: (1) Please focus on his schooling syllabus (2) Try to improve his mathematics skills (3) ASk him to appear for all types of competitive exams held at the schooling level. (4) Join in foundation IIT course (5) Take a brief review of his 10th grade score and his understanding level. At last, no need to take the unnecessary tension at this stage. Keep faith in your child. For proper suggestion, please contact us again when his 10th grade exams will over and the expected score he is guessing.

If dissatisfied with the reply, please ask again without hesitation.
Thanks.
