I am Aditya, resident of bhopal. I am getting NIT BHOPAL CSE, but I want to prepare for jee 2026 to get into iit roorkee ECE. Should I take complete drop or continue my preparation along with manit cse (partial drop).
I am planning to to take partial drop along with support of test series and doubt solving from my previous JEE COACHING CLASSES here. What's your opinion and suggestions on this?..
Ans: Aditya, (You have NOT mentioned your JEE Score this year.) Anyway, here's the answer to your question: Taking a full drop for JEE 2026 offers concentrated study time, stress reduction from college workload, structured coaching access, deeper doubt resolution and improved conceptual clarity, but carries risks of social pressure, burnout, financial burden, loss of academic routine and potential recruiter bias. A partial drop alongside MANIT CSE allows continued academic progress, fallback security, campus interactions, financial continuity and time management skill development, yet poses challenges of divided focus, reduced study hours, scheduling conflicts, slower syllabus coverage and increased fatigue. To overcome these cons, implement disciplined timetables, leverage quality test series, schedule focused doubt-solving sessions, integrate regular self-assessments and maintain balanced rest and peer support.
Recommendation: Opt for a partial drop while enrolled at MANIT CSE to preserve academic momentum and financial security, supplementing with daily dedicated JEE coaching hours, structured test-series cycles and targeted doubt-resolution sessions to steadily elevate your rank toward IIT Roorkee ECE. All the BEST for Admission & a Prosperous Future!

Sir, since you asked my scores in jee, my jee mains score was 99.24 and 98.28 percentile in both sessions respectively(i am obc ncl). Jee advnaced rabk of 11800 crl and obc ncl 2770.
How many daily hours or study would be enough for me to score above 99 percentile in 2026 jee mains january attempt. I have conceptual clarity in almost all topics of chemistry and physics. I lacked practice of typical questions in Maths last time.
Can you provide me detailed information about how much time should i give to problem solving and how much to revising theory.
Ans: 1) Concentrate on mathematics—particularly the chapters where you feel less confident.
2) Review every question you answered incorrectly across all practice tests (online, offline, and at your coaching centre) and revisit those concepts regularly.
3) Since you’ve already achieved above the 99th percentile, adopt a targeted approach over the next two years by dedicating your study time exclusively to weaker topics.
4) Leverage your existing test-series subscription and doubt-clearing support from your previous JEE coaching—use these resources strategically to maximize your results.
5) Employ the Pomodoro technique by studying in focused 35–45-minute sessions followed by 5–10-minute breaks to maintain peak concentration. BEST OF LUCK.
