I am 44 year old IT engineer. I want to learn new courses which will be helpful for me going forward for my future....please suggest

Ans: Dear Venkat,

Thank you for writing in.

It's nice that you are looking at building your skills. IT, as an industry is quite vast. I may not be in the position to give you a direct answer as to which course you should do but few q's you may ask yourself which will you help come to conclusion-
1- Which latest technology that is having competitive advantage
2- Do I want to change the domain/ language or continue in the same. If you want to continue then you can look at relatable courses.
3- What are the opportunities I may have if I add these (x) skills to my profile. How will it help me stand out in the competition
4- Should I work on my soft skills for example- (People skills, managerial skills, communication skills etc.) as these will be needed at every level of your career
5- Speak to senior professionals in your industry and take their views points

Before enrolling into any course assess your current skills, interests and the specific need of the industry you are in. Choose a course which will align with your career, aspiration and interest that you want to take professionally.

Hope this helps. All the best.

To your success. Be You. Be Confident

I am currently in 1 year CSE at NIT Warangal, please suggest me some additional courses with which I can improve my skills and get a good placement
Ans: As an initial step, please conduct research on the companies that have visited NIT-W for campus recruitment over the past 2-3 years. Review the websites of each company to familiarize yourself with the products and services they offer.
From this information, you will be able to discern the skills anticipated by each organization. Please document all necessary skills. Identify the skills that are commonly sought after by recruiters and companies. The senior students and faculty members of your institute in their fourth year will be available to assist you with this matter.
Upon reviewing the skills identified and those recommended by your Senior Students and Faculty, you will be positioned to finalize the Certifications you intend to pursue. Below are some recommended certification courses you may consider pursuing, contingent upon feedback from your senior students and faculty in the CSE Department: Programming Foundations, Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA), Web Development, App Development, Competitive Programming, Machine Learning and AI, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, and Blockchain. Acquire proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, and Java. Engage in practice through platforms like freeCodeCamp, HackRank, and CodeChef. Explore Python libraries including NumPy, Pandas, and TensorFlow, as well as delve into ethical hacking, network security, AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. Sir Iam getting iit dharwad and iit mandi cse,iit bhu electronics engineering and nit Calicut cse.sir please advice which is better for placements and future.am so confused on what to choose
Ans: IIT Dharwad’s CSE (est. 2015) features NAAC A++ accreditation, PhD-qualified faculty in AI/ML and cybersecurity labs, strong industry internships, and recorded a 65% CSE placement rate in 2024. IIT Mandi CSE (est. 2009) offers cutting-edge software engineering, data-science and cloud-computing labs, nearly 90% placement consistency over the past three years (89.32% in 2024), and top recruiters like Google and Amazon. IIT BHU’s Electronics Engineering benefits from multidisciplinary research labs (VLSI, signal-processing, communications), accomplished faculty, and 81.63% ECE placements in 2024. NIT Calicut CSE (est. 1961) boasts NBA accreditation, a 100% CSE placement record in 2021, modern computing infrastructure, robust alumni networks, and consistent recruiter engagement. All four maintain active placement cells, mandatory internships, and strong industry tie-ups.

Final recommendation:
For broad software roles and highest placement consistency, choose NIT Calicut CSE. If you prioritise international tech-driven internships and robust data-science labs, opt for IIT Mandi CSE. For interdisciplinary core-electronics exposure, select IIT BHU Electronics Engineering. Consider IIT Dharwad CSE if you value emerging campus culture and personalized mentorship. All the BEST for Admission & a Prosperous Future!

For B.Tech Aeronautical engineering which is the best Nitte Meenakshi Institute of technology or Jain University
Ans: Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT) Bengaluru’s Aeronautical Engineering program (est. 2011, intake 120) is NBA-accredited and VTU-affiliated, taught by PhD-qualified faculty with DRDO/ISRO collaborations and facilities including a Cessna 172 aircraft, MiG-21 engine, subsonic wind tunnel, UAV, propulsion, structures, avionics, and simulation labs. It recorded an 82.86% Aero placement rate in 2024 via 192 recruiters, with mandatory industry internships and funded R&D projects. Jain University’s B.Tech Aerospace (IIAEM) is NBA-accredited under JU-FET, led by alumni of IISc, IITs and former DRDO/ISRO scientists, offering flight lab training at IIT Kanpur, computational labs (3DEXPERIENCE, Ansys-CFD, MATLAB), and industry-driven projects. Its overall engineering placement stands at 51.69% in 2023, backed by tie-ups with Google, Microsoft, Tech Mahindra, Mercedes-Benz and SIATI. Both maintain active placement cells, mentorship programs, and research opportunities, but NMIT’s higher Aero-specific placements and core-engineering infrastructure contrast with Jain’s broader aerospace-management focus and stronger software-oriented recruiters.

Final recommendation:
For robust core-Aeronautical training, superior laboratory infrastructure, and higher placement consistency in the Aerospace domain, recommendation is NMIT Bengaluru Aeronautical Engineering. Choose Jain University Aerospace if you prioritise interdisciplinary aerospace management, international exposure at flight labs, and a technology-driven curriculum with diverse industry collaborations. All the BEST for Admission & a Prosperous Future!
